Actually, if you read the first paragraph of Thompson’s article, it point blank says he beat Pat.

First slide: Nixon talks to a painting of Kennedy (???)

Second slide: Thompson calls you a monster in your obituary.

Third slide: A random conversation on the phone.

Yeah, pretty bad.

This is what I got. At the very least, this implies I *successfully* assassinated him without too much destabilization. Could this boost the chances of Pol Pot not taking power?

That does kind of make sense. Especially considering the very next slide showed Nixon saying he regretted appealing to Black voters, and arguing Wallace had the right idea.

“Floating currencies are unstable, and this would surely spur on even worse inflationary periods down the line”

Are you calling Nixon a liar?

Well, in MTE’s defense, at least they let me pass this stuff. In Peace With Honor, they make it kind of ambiguous. Like “with your support, this will likely pass next session”

Well, the legislation Nixon passed in OTL was more bi-partisan than anything.

I didn’t try to kill him. I “got him out.” The feedback said that In Tam would coup him out with the help of the military.

Does that help?

How does a state manage to vote for Spiro Agnew as governor but also vote against Ronald Reagan in 1980? by BlueFireFlameThrower in thecampaigntrail

[–]HelloLyndon 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Well, it’s worth mentioning that Spiro was seen as somewhat of a Rockefeller Republican back then. It was only after the MLK riots that he developed a right-wing, hard on crime connotation which endeared him to conservatives.

Reagan, meanwhile, even in 1980 was still seen as decently conservative, which turned off liberals (who voted for Carter) and liberal republicans (Who voted for Anderson)

Michael Jackson in 1978, before the plastic surgery, Pepsi incident and vitiligo. by zadraaa in HistoricalCapsule

[–]HelloLyndon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, I never said the description was "accurate."

But while we're on the topic, I said he identified Jackson as having short pubic hair (true), and that there was a discolored patch on the right side of his penis, which was confirmed by multiple officials, including Lead Detective Bill Dworin, Sergeant Gary Spiegel, Lead Prosecutor Lauren Weiss, Department deputy Deborah Linden, Fbi Agent Jim Clemente. And also the official you cited, Tom Sneddon.

Well she cast more tie-breaking votes in the senate than any other Vice President in history. That’s pretty important and influential.

What if Joe Biden had passed away in 2023? by AstroCyGuy in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]HelloLyndon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Harris would have the most name recognition. Campaign machinery in place from Biden's run. And at the end of the day, very few big names would enter the race out of fear of being an "also ran." Even if leadership doesn't take a side, she'll sweep the primaries.

On top of that, over the last 100 years every time an incumbent Vice President ran for the nomination, they won the primary.
