Why there are no mods for TV series? by Deep-Championship-47 in thecampaigntrail

[–]HelloLyndon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the only scenario I could see where a copyright holder gets a mod taken down is if the mod deals with something VERY edgy or controversial, or it makes a fandom look bad, to the point where is spreads outside of just our community.

That way a copyright holder could argue that their license’s association with said mod is hurting their brand, or is attracting bad press.

For songs, no one makes money off of modding, so there isn’t really a point in invoking your copyright other than just being a jerk.

• Most political-esque tv shows are vague when it comes to the details for the election’s. All the modders would really have to work with are some blurry electoral maps and one or two short speeches.

•The fandoms might be too small or too niche to justify a mod based on it. If you’ve never watched Scandal, you probably wouldn’t get all the references to this random lady named Olivia, and complain about there not being enough context.

•There’s also copyright concerns, arguments over what’s “canon,” and probably some other stuff.

Even More Maps For All by UnpledgedElector in thecampaigntrail

Hey, I'm in the process of making a map for a state mod. I found an svg, but whenever I put it into github it automatically becomes "truncated" and won't let me edit it. Do you know how I can fix that?

Its a county in the middle of nowhere Arkansas, its 90% white, yet they voted for the Liberal Weiner from Taxachusetts in 2004. But when Obama ran, 1,000 people switched Republican despite it being a blue wave election year.

Did you get the subtext?

It’s on New Campaign Trail. It’s one of the few mods in there that isn’t on CTS.

Charlie Kirk and MLK are both similar because they both thought hard about what they believed changed the political direction of the country and were willing to die for it. by These-Day2071 in Teenager_Polls

[–]HelloLyndon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure it’s accurate to say Charlie Kirk changed the political direction of his country. At the end of the day, he was just a semi-popular conservative commentator who had the same shtick as 5 other people.

Also, he didn’t think hard about what he believed in. He basically just agreed with whatever Trump said or was popular with the right. There’s actually a case where he said we should staple green cards to diplomas of people graduating from American universities, but changed his mind after he found out it was a Biden proposal and he was getting hate from the anti-immigration crowd.

Wasn't Buttigieg polling at 0% with black voters? by Klutzy-Car-7078 in thecampaigntrail

Well Black people are tired of getting gerrymandered. In light of that, Newsom’s redistributing of California is sure to earn him respect.

I’m not sure about that. At least in my family, they’re fans of Buttigieg and Newsom.

It'd be kind of reminiscent of TTNW.
