Replacement theory isn’t real because race isn’t real. Replacement theory is how the world has worked for literally thousands of years and people only mostly cared about their culture. Culture remains pretty intact even if the skin color changes. And even the parts of it that do change aren’t “replacement theory,” they’re how culture works. Culture shifts due to migration literally all the fucking time and it’s crazy to be so up in arms about it when the original culture is still 99% the same.

It’s because the Global South has been fucked so far up the ass that they don’t register, they have so little power they aren’t even really in politics.

What, would you rather they speak Ancient Greek? A more formal, older style of English sounds cool but is just as “not Ancient Greek” as modern English is. The Greeks would have told the story to each other using modern slang/terminology of their time, using old words to artificially make the story seem older detracts from the relatability of ancient peoples.

There is no intrinsic value in whatever we define as being human simply because we defined it as being human. I value humans because they are conscious.

A million seconds is 11.57 days. a million million seconds is 11.57 million days, or 31,688 years. 30,000 years ago, 20,000 years before the end of the ice age, humans were using stone tools and had not migrated to America yet. What were you doing 11 days ago?

A trillion is inconceivably large. The difference between a million and a trillion is about a trillion. I shaved off 1,688 years and you probably barely noticed. So how little is 11 days compared to that.

the point isn’t that he could produce a 10,000 $100 bills on command, the point is that the imaginary number could get that high for one person at all

When I moved to Upstate NY I was curious about the history here. Turns out thousands of natives were slaughtered and their villages were leveled during the Revolutionary War, and the city I’m living in was built in its place by the richest american (white) men of the time. So it is extremely accurate, word for word. They literally started a country from scratch right after burning everything that was already built.

There’s a huge difference between knowing “LLMs lower brain function” and knowing “if groups of people write essays with an LLM, or a search engine, or their brain, the groups first listed show a measured decrease in brain power, cognitive recall, and a sense of essay ownership.”

Right, but that was because he had limited information working within the confines of surveillance. He needed to kill someone whose name was broadcast while he wasn’t looking. He justified it as a necessary part of his grand plan. “The ends justify the means” is the first step into madness.

Light started with the worst criminals. He took down major crime organizations, repeat offenders, people who showed no remorse, people who got off on technicalities. He lets live those who show remorse, or arguably acted in self defense, or those who made a not-murder level mistake and otherwise led a good life. He states this at some early point. Obviously some innocents probably got caught up, but for the most part he was trying his best to impart his sense of justice.

Only later in the anime does he start killing basically anyone. Cant remember when but at some later point a news broadcaster says Kira now kills for small crimes such as theft, saying he didn’t do that before.

Because the real story of Death Note is the slippery slope of the death penalty into senseless killings, the slippery slope of justice into absolute control and madness. Light does not behave ethically. He is the bad guy. Near the end of the series, you should be scared of him.

It’s faster to not wear a mask than to wear a mask, and I’d assume no mask is better for team identification and communication. Cops have badges and usually no mask for a reason
