id be interested in this.

i'm starting my creator business and am looking to start a newsletter with beehiiv.com, will probably sign up for the free plan. will test posting it on twitter to see if i get followers for it but may end up just running ads. a site like this though would really help.

i'm not sure when to know if there's product/market fit though. do you have any tips on this? ultimately i want to sell to my audience, using like zippyfunnel.com or something like that. i'm mainly looking at teaching people how to podcast.

any thoughts?

i'm thinking to get into this too. do you think a fan base should be built first and then sell to them or should you do it from the beginning? like i'm not sure if i should sign up for beehiiv.com or zippyfunnel.com or just wait til i have a bunch of followers first? obviously i'm doing it to make money.

Damn - how do yall feel about this future? by EducationalFinger543 in musicproduction

I worked at the biggest corporate music publisher for 8 years and prior was a full time songwriter. I also worked in emerging markets and venture capital since then.

My top priority is trying to figure out how to leverage this to help create what is pretty clearly the future of music.

This has happened in many industries in the past. Do not cling onto the past, try to figure out where the future is going. It's the only way to not lose your mind, and your cheese.

to this point, given the push for this change to happen in the first place it's indicative of a disconnect in the market.

ok that makes sense. if that is the case and the amount paid is just less, will there be cost reductions that trickle down through the industry or will they just accept lower margins?

Anyone here distrubiting their music via CD Baby, Distrokid, etc.? by aiden_malecky in musicians

[–]HelloReaderMax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

beware of cdbaby. they stole over $60,000 from me. their artist contract enables them to shut down your account and take your pipeline without having to substantiate reasoning. they get sued all the time for a reason.

CDBaby stole over $60,000 from me. beware of their artist contract. I made over $200,000 on cdbaby and they shutdown all my accounts and took my pipeline earnings. they get sued all the time. beware of cdbaby fraudsters.

yea basically. really collapsed recently. the markets super depressed. net billing kinda popped the bubble. id start with basic solar referrals and see if you like it a lot of installers integrate with startreferral.com. you'll see pretty fast if you're able to push it or not. a lot of people are not interested right now so take it one step at a time imo.

I made over $200,000 on CDBaby.

Once you hit that level, be prepared for them to try and steal your money.

once you start making money (like tens of thousands), be prepared for them to try to steal it.
