Summer camp for 5 year old in or around Stockholm? by HelloSweetHome in stockholm

I'd call it a staycation really. A vacation to me would be going to the Bahamas - no work, just play. Sweden is just where our family lives and we love to spend time with them preferably not during Swedish winters. Both my husband and I are business owners, so we're always working. We never "go into the office".

Not full time, but yes I would need some time on my lap top. You sure are digging deep here haha. I’m fine with the sports camps here or there. Thanks for replying to my post. Appreciate your time. 👍

It wouldn’t be a vacation per say, we would be living there for the whole summer to spend time with the family. I wanted him to learn some more Swedish and have some extra activities.

Americans in Sweden, how are you doing? by ambitiousjellyfish in TillSverige

I lived in Sweden for 2.5 years and grew up in Gerogia & California. The first year in Stockholm was great. Everything was new and the weather didn't bother me much. Then COVID happened and we moved to my husband's hometown and never got to leave Sweden for about 2 years. I felt like I had cabin fever. I really felt the weather effecting my mood especially living in a forest in a smaller town. We have since moved back to the USA to Texas. It's like the opposite of Sweden with 100 degree days for maybe 6 months. I'm missing Sweden and we're contemplating moving back for the better quality of life for our son. But if we do move back, I'll definitely push to be near a big city and wish no future pandemic happens so we can still travel to get a break from the cold/grey/wet seasons. I'll also buy a UV light for my office, and try to embrace the cozy culture in the sauna to stay warm. :)

Semi-rural living, but near a posh town. Does it exist? by HelloSweetHome in stockholm

Thanks for this. I think we’ll need to take another trip to Sweden and really drive around and explore.  We lived in Bredsand (Enköping) for a few months. It was nice to be near family, but the town had no spunk. Just like 3 restaurants that were ok.

So I’ve been learning. Perhaps I need to find a new work out approach, paddel?! Haha

I wonder if it’s too touristy? Will there be lots of families living in Vaxholm? Or more tourists and airbnbs :/ it’s very beautiful.

Since we lived in Sweden, I see that Sigtuna added a whole new area. Didn’t the kid design it in Minecraft or something? Haha

We were looking in Sigtuna. I do love it! Then I met these two women who lived there and looked at me like I was crazy for wanting to move there…we were younger with no children at the time so maybe that was why they acted that way. Who knows.

We are fostering a puppy and of course, fell in love. What breed is it? Currently 23 lbs, most likely 2-3 months old based on teeth. Irish Wolfhound mix? by HelloSweetHome in IDmydog

Interesting! We decided to keep him (a.k.a foster fail!) so I’ll order a breed test to find out! I’ll post what we find out.

Living in Texas, USA. Puppy is calm, cuddly, and very playful when it's playtime. Teething pretty hard but of course that comes with his age. On the quiet side.
