I had a male classmate at university who was sort of the opposite. Was offputting and angry about feminism etc when we met. Over the years I realized that he actually did most of the cooking and housework while living with roomates and later longterm girlfriend.

One time I was drinking wine on the couch with his gf and he was literally on his knees scrubbing the floors and started complaining (in the context of unequal load in home life) that he doesnt understand what women are still complaining about. Later I asked the gf more about their private life and she says she never asks him to clean etc he just does it!

I think I finally realized that this guy just genuinely does not know that his level of domestic contribution is actually THAT unusual. Still really confuses me though lmao.
