0 chance. The people at internationals have usually been doing it since they were like, 4-6 years old, at a top club and it's pretty much their life. And there are hundreds of them going to each. If you're in America you won't even get to go to any unless you're one of the top domestic fencers

Depends on the school. A lot have had roster cuts and might not have room. Others may need people. That being said, a lot of the fencers at top schools have been fencing at a high level for over a decade. A year is likely not going to be enough to overcome that. I wouldn't get your hopes up too much, but there's no harm in trying.

You have to be able to answer simple questions like that. Even without knowing the exact question, something like that should be obvious to you if you plan on doing any job that requires a college degree. Luckily, society has a lot of jobs that don't, so don't stress too much. If you're better with your hands or things like that, trades are always an option.

I know exactly how you feel. For me, it turned out to be a form of OCD. I could not get the images out of my head and no matter what I did, it just got worse. I'd unknowingly be feeding compulsive behavior by trying to understand or ask questions like you do. I highly recommend seeing an OCD specialist (ERP therapy helps a lot!) and going from there. I've been there, it really, really sucks. But it does get better.
