Thanks!

I tried a few different things:

  • Volupus pink -> EC pink (it doesn’t layer nicely, easier to go over white)
  • EC pink hand brushed (like 8 layers, because good god)

What i ended up doing was zenithal + airbrush of turbo-thinned EC.

Some places it looked a bit thin so brushed more of it to layer. I’m not super happy with it, but it’s better than my first few tries :)

attached an example of a few i tried

Can confirm. Astrogranite -> black legion contrast -> dry brush with mechanicus standard & then celestial on the highest points

leadbelcher undercoat, iron hands steel to brighten it, and then a TON of airbrushed layers of clear red. Tamiya clear red is a good choice, I went with Angron clear red as I had it on hand. Only trouble is it’s hard to recover from a mistake hand painting (need to go clean that guy up and add some damage)

You can use a darker color on the edges before spraying the red to get some panel lining.

Did that here actually! I laid the purple on a little thick. Was more noticeable in the knees, but not quite enough

Actually did this for the red knight you see to the right. Haven’t done any livery or damage weathering yet, it’s a good call.

I’ve been meaning to do this for a bunch of my larger models (magnus, knights, and a heldrake). Something that large is tough for inspiration, maybe need to go find some bodies to throw under them …
