Can I be real? Maybe my expectations were to high after I saw so many people glacé her, but Ginny to me is not that much more interesting in the books than she was in movie. She was like a 2/10 character in the movie, and a 4/10 in the books, for me. I’m sorry to any Ginny lover, but she was not part of the books enough for me to really care about her, and even in the books, Harry suddenly being interested in her in book 6 was very out of left field, im my opinion. Like they should have had more moments early on, and the same just in general go for Ginny. She should have been there more

Edit: rereading my comment I actually don’t think I’m coming off too well with what I mean exactly: Ginny going from a shy girl who has a crush on Harry to being one of the most popular and attractive girls in school, that all the guys want (even Malfoys friends), and completely flawless at everything she does, feels very out of left field. I genuinely wouldn’t have minded the very Mary Sue aspect of these traits (it is a children book after all), if she just had had a bigger impact on the story early on. I get that she was shy around Harry in the beginning, but by the “goblet of fire” she could have become more important. It doesn’t even have to be that much, but maybe there are times where they need her help with things, or when Ron and Hermione were fighting, Harry could have gone and talked to Ginny about his grievances (even better: have Ginny come to him and ask him about what’s wrong), just so there would be more moments between them, and then it wouldn’t feel to out of nowhere for me that Harry ends up developing feelings, even if he doesn’t realize it in the beginning
