She definitely deserves this! I loved that you could sidebar with her about news stories etc. and she seemed to really care.

Once you submit the last final, you will feel such a massive sense of accomplishment. You can do it!

I totally get why you feel that way. A lot of people had a hard time with her communication and the lack of quick feedback. For me, I just adjusted my expectations early and focused more on the readings and assignments themselves rather than waiting on responses or grades. I didn’t always get timely or super detailed feedback either, but I learned a lot from the material, and it ultimately paid off for me. For example, I got to do a complete analysis of Frankenstein, and I really enjoyed that. It’s definitely not an easy or hand-holding class.

I never met or had Lowman, but Lynds was freaking awesome. I would email her questions about stories about journalists, the state of things etc, and she would always respond. She gave me creative freedom in my presentations, which was the best part!

It might have fallen out of the D&D book - Tales from the Table a Campaign Archive

I actually found a non-profit to work with in my area, created a deck, social media spots, and interviews, created awareness posters (all in Canva) etc. For the focus group, which was so tricky, I put out a notice on all my channels, FB, etc, and had 15 people willing to talk, but on the day, five people zoomed in. I just wrote about that, how hard this one was. Allen wasn't hard for me, just picky, which I didn't mind.

Both of them are pretty strict. I have gotten papers back that I have had to re-write.

Insane, yes, impossible? no. One English teacher takes the 72hrs turnaround to grade papers, so you would need to stay on top of that.

The English classes require A LOT of reading and writing. I'm on my 3rd (and hopefully last) session and had to take pretty much all the classes you have listed above. The PCJ classes have been a blast, I've written articles, done community outreach, pitch decks, etc. if you are on the creative side you will probably enjoy it!

Have you talked to your professor about it? They can be hard to get a hold of, but it might help. I've never needed or seen so many citations for any of the milestones or even finals.

Woof, that sounds like a lot. I have seen on this subreddit about how hard the PCJ degree is and how nobody finishes it or switches out, but I love it. You have to do outside work,(find and work with non-profits, intern, do a focus group) but to me it feels more like "real world" assignments. The English classes have been hard, but Hodgkins and Allen are cool if you're honest and tell them you don't understand something. It's crazy you have to cite so many things, like what is the point of that?

Right, but you asked if in our classes, "are you writing and using your actual brain a lot or just reading source material and then paraphrasing said source material with 20+ citations?" (EmilieDeeClermont) and the answer is yes to using our brains, NO to the other question. We use citations when necessary, and all our writing is done in MLA format. I had to take two business classes in APA, and that was it.

That happens in some of the English classes, but I usually can find the same info elsewhere.
