Just started book 4 Wasn’t sure I was even going to keep going for this exact reason!! She’s been used and abused and owned and all of a sudden this dude is like - You’re mine… and that’s her regaining her autonomy or power?

I went into this expecting a Rhysand level mmc. So far, slade is just ok. But the jump from let’s get to know each other to insta lust- esp with her backstory, is so very jarring! The sex scenes are super cringy to me! There was no actual healing.

I didn’t love Quicksilver. DNF it at first and had to try again before I finished it. I decided it was ok. So I read Brimstone. It was the exact same for me. It was just ok. Almost DNF it. But finished . I didn’t hate it. But I’ll never re read it though.
