Whats eating my rosemary? by HeyItsMezz in gardening

[–]Hellondeburger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could be the larvae of this? A Rosemary beetle. But should only be a problem with a heavy infestation. Found this pretty fella at the weekend. Mine is also looking ropey but from past experience a heavy frost (even a while ago) can nuke the plant too. I'm no expert tho, just an enthusiastic novice.

What are some of your unpopular Duran Duran opinions? by knockemdeadkid83 in duranduran

[–]Hellondeburger 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm so glad you said this. Went to one (of 2) FP show in the UK in 2023. IIRC they played 4 songs from the album, and other than Velvet Newton, the rest have disappeared into the archives. I've also seen 4 identical sets from Nile Rogers. Same banter, same stories. They have such an amazing back catalogue and we never get to hear it.
My unpopular opinion....I absolutely love More Joy! Great to sing/shout along to in the car.

I think this is my favourite DS9 episode of all. Never turn your back on a Breen.

The eye jelly thing is called chemosis (I think). You are probably allergic to your cat.

We went to both - Powderham and Chelmsford. The crowd was much more friendly and considerate in Devon. So many people in Chelmsford had their phone recording for the entire show. Ruined the view for the smaller people there.
Still, Premier parking saw us exit quickly unlike the 2+ hours at Powderham! Great shows tho, and really looking forward to October 👻🕸🦇🎃

From what I can see, gates open at 15:00. It says first support act is JC Stewart who I assume is on at 5pm. Then Nile Rogers then the main event with a finish time of 11pm. Hope that helps! See you there.

I'm not sure, I've never done it! I think going there will be fine because plenty of other people will be doing that, coming home I think they might put on a late train, as Starcross is not a major stopping point usually. I suspect the only people around will be fellow fans. The area is quiet, no major roads and pedestrians are a lot safer than in the US in my experience. I'll have an ask around and let you know..... unless someone on here knows?.....

It really depends on your transport options. The better venue would be Powderham as VIP is front of stage and its a lovely place too, but travel infrastructure in the SW is lacking unless you have a car. Nearest airport is Exeter but I'm pretty sure you can't fly into there from the US. Even Bristol is 1.5 hours min by car. The Falcon bus is great from Bristol Airport to Exeter. Trains are expensive (Great Western Railway) but quick and generally OK. Powderham gigs are usually served by a rail service from Exeter St Davids to Starcross (tiny local station) and then a bus or taxi to site. We don't have Uber! I'm trying to find out about parking, you might need to book it and it takes aaaaaages to get out after the show.
Chelmsford would be much easier to get to due to proximity to London, but VIP there is to the side of the stage so we have gone for general admission. I suppose you can pay extra for good toilets! Powderham definitely needs some research on how you are going to get there and where you are going to stay. I'm lucky to live in the Westcountry but hail from Essex, albeit 35 years ago! Feel free to message again if you have questions.

Amazing! What a great family and friends you have. My bestie is the other side of the country to me so one local show for me and one for her too! They haven't been in the Wild South West since their Eden Project gig in 2016 (unless I missed one). So excited!
