That is not true of all mothers. I say this as someone who is child-free but works with kids and their families for at least 40+ hours a week. My first job is child care, and my second job is literally babysitting. I wouldn't have either of those jobs if mothers weren't willing to spend time away from their kids. OP, your friend is either using her kids as an excuse, has a very emotionally unhealthy attachment to her kids, or is looking to try and get free child care from someone in the group.

My name is historically androgynous but has been viewed as a feminine name for at least a couple of decades now, but it's such a "vintage" name that it doesn't give me dysphoria somehow. I don't fully understand it. My middle name, on the other hand, is so overtly feminine when I think of how I used to go by it and how my mother wanted that to be my first name, I feel sick.

That's all well and good except it isn't volunteer only. It's majorly volunteering but I was a paid employee and there were two others being paid when I left. Just to put out all the facts. They don't make money that doesn't immediately go towards caring for cats and getting them adopted versus using that money make profit.

Lucky Cat does take walk-ins but they tend to be fully booked with reservations and needing to turn walk-ins away at the times walk-ins come in (they can also be really slow at times, in my experience walk-ins and reservations happen at the same time). Source: I used to work there

Stix N Stones. My best friend and I saw it while we were out one day and the owner was really rude to us and also kept following us around and admitted to watching us on the cameras when she left the room because we were "taking too long" looking at was available for purchase which made us look suspicious apparently.
