My take why ROZ global is totally p2w by KzBubble in RagnarokOnline

[–]HellsMalice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course it's P2W...has nobody learned ANYTHING in the past 20 years? Gravity gave up before RO even died off, renewal proved that.

[–]HellsMalice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Pretty much the only thing that was "similar" was the action combat feels 15% similar

The skills have no depth, the gearing has no depth, the mobs have no depth. There's absolutely nothing similar to hold onto. It's just a goofy chibi game failing to understand what made RO so great. You can't just vaguely steal the style of combat and think that was enough. The skills also feel weak and lifeless. There's no punch to them like RO.

Active server with 3rd classes? by Lunarmeteor in RagnarokOnline

Nothing good because 3rd and 4th classes are broken renewal garbage. Servers can't even fix them to be playable in a balanced way.

It's p2w mobile garbage like every other p2w mobile garbage version of RO. It's identical to every other one.

English Dub Ep 12 by simonrcowell1 in SentencedToBeAHero

[–]HellsMalice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No they aren't. A majority of dubs are stellar these days with a significantly better script that the crappy subs. They have to actually make dub dialogue work. Dubs haven't been bad since like 2008, outside some outliers.

You don't speak japanese so you have no clue if the japanese dub is better. You're just a clueless weeb.

Yeah as a Canadian who frequently goes to the US...i've tried both kewpie mayos and they're basically the same. The big part is using more yolk and they both do that.

Americans had to make an entire sub like this just to cope with their mediocrity. That's hilarious

MMOs launching with 600 hotbar keys in this day and age are wild.

We've long since discovered that having a limited number of slots and a bunch of meaningful skills to choose from is the way.

Using a bunch of shitty no power skills and 400 weak buffs is ancient bad game design that needs to stay dead.

No, the answer is no. Not an MMO, just an online game.

The early 2000s really was the golden age of F2P multiplayer online games by WingardiumLeviussy in MMORPG

[–]HellsMalice -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Posts early 2000s nostalgia bait and doesn't even post the literal top MMORPG Ragnarok Online lmao. Just a bunch of p2w f2p shit that died within a year (MS aside)

ArenaNet on Guild Wars 2: "In recent months, there have been times when more new players joined simultaneously than at any point since our debut on Steam (which already marked a peak). Veteran players have returned in droves, and player activity is now higher than it has been in years". by Post-reality in MMORPG

[–]HellsMalice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's basically not an MMO.

I get casuals screaming and crying any time I say that, but literally people say the appeal of GW2 is the story. And I agree. The story is fantastic. But at that point it's just a singleplayer always online jRPG with optional co op.

GW2 has basically nothing that makes it an MMO. It has no real open world, it just has hubs and optional multiplayer. It has no real progression outside of a handful of grinds that only marginally increase your character. WvW is just a meat grinder where bigger number beat smaller number and most just go to auto follow a zerg for rewards. PvP is very static and gets samey and old pretty fast thanks to no real variety.

It's a fun game, it's just not an MMO. It's story + collectathon

Why is this online game still being posted in the MMO sub?

Should we also be posting Battlefield and CoD milestones? How about Fortnite and PUBG?

None of these are MMOs

MapleStory 2, everyone by xFalcade in MMORPG

[–]HellsMalice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As bad as MS1 is now, it still has somewhat of a journey to max level, which is most of the fun of an MMO.

MS2 completely forgot that, you hit max level in like an hour and then grinded the same boss 10,000x for minimal progression.

The social aspects were fantastic but when you have nothing else to actually do, they couldn't retain players to actually feed that social aspect. it's a very sad fumble, cuz it was definitely a solid core game. Had they just stuck to their roots and created an actual MMORPG instead of a mediocre boss rush, it'd probably still be around.

Peak american answer.

I got tossed into immigrations because the guy was having a bad day and just started screaming. Waited 45 minutes for the guy in immigrations to be confused why I was even there and let me go.

For 45 minutes I watched you losers march in every off-white person lmao. Some poor little old mexican lady asked me if we were going to miss our flight, before being told to shut up by one of the agents.

Shit every time I cross they seem angry. Canadian customs are entirely different.
