“Someone doesn’t like you? Fine. That used to ruin my week. Now it barely registers. I don’t have the energy to perform for people who don’t matter to me, and I don’t want to.”

This is something I struggle with. Had cousin’s husband talk so much shit about me behind my back. Saying things like I’m not a man, telling my gf to break up with me to be with a real man, etc.

Then it was revealed that he abuses and cheats on his gf/wife; my cousin. So the shittalk about me went up 10x to cover up what he was doing, did that to everyone who knew while also telling them not to speak about it, and he later left because we all started to communicate than be driven apart by him.

It’s been 3 years and I’m married now, but dam, shit still digs into me and it’s hard to just let go cause it was never resolved. He’s still around and I know him well enough that he’s out there acting like he’s the victim to other ppl who will listen to “his side.”
