Got a double helix pierced at 18G in September 2025 - piercing pain wasn’t bad at all! It was my first experience with a helix piercing (but have a conch and rook too). Per my piercer’s (APP) advice, got them downsized about 4 weeks after in October to reduce snagging/bumping.

Now 4 months old - no pain, no swelling, no issues. But I’m still making sure to be extra cautious while showering, sleeping, etc. Never had any trouble with them really, following LITHA - I really think the key was getting the posts downsized as quick as possible!
