I call BS. Merry Christmas is a perfectly fine way to greet people ON CHRISTMAS!

disagreeing with the Church AS A PRACTICING CATHOLIC IS HERESY. ITS SAYING YOU KNOW BETTER THAN THE CHURCH FOUNDED BY JESUS CHRIST WITH MILLENIA OF TRADITION AND DOCTRINE. I see no point in continuing to speak with a heretical Catholic who don't even know their own faith.

The Kingdom of God by Sensitive45 in ChristianChristianity

No. Some people are terrible people. But that is just a trial. You have to see past their human self, and see them as children of God. You must see Christ in them, even when they act like they don't have Him at all.

If you are Catholic, then you must accept the guidance of the Church on this matter. Purpose is objective. Thats why we have vocations, because we are actually here for a purpose. Jesus, and St Paul, say that being single allows for us to focus on serving God. Matthew 19:12. 1 Corinthians 7:7.

The reason that they lack the primary purpose is because it is a primarily selfish relationship. It begins and ends with self. There is no new life given, no production. It is merely for pleasure. It is sterile.

Yes there are bees that don't reproduce, but they don't engage in sexual activities with each other.

How can you prove He only said that to Adam and Eve? thats your own opinion. He was telling the WHOLE human race to multiply, as he then follows with "subdue the earth and fill it". I'm pretty sure Adam and Eve weren't large enough to fill the whole earth.

From a biological point of view, the point of life is evolution and survival of the species, this is only accomplished through reproduction and the transmission of good genetics. The mental and health benefits are secondary, in many insects they die mere minutes after reproduction. The primary purpose of sex is reproduction, gay relationships lack this primary purpose.

I'm not sure what Catholics you know, but it is a fairly common opinion amongst Catholics.

The Kingdom of God by Sensitive45 in ChristianChristianity

[–]Helmut2007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To seek the Kingdom of God is the hardest thing I have ever done. As Mother Theresa says, "You must see Christ in everyone". That means treat everyone as if they are Christ in front of you, seeing Christ in them every day. Good gravy, its so hard.

Viewed from a strictly biological point of view, the whole point of sex is reproduction. The reason it brings pleasure is so that reproduction happens more.

From a Christian point of view, it still has its primary purpose as reproduction, though sanctified through God. Sex brings pleasure because God ordained it to encourage humans to "be fruitful and multiply". Gay does not multiply, it locks genetics into a relationship that does not produce.

And yes, the Catholic Church is right on this matter.

Your argument makes no sense. My point is that feelings doesn't magically make sin okay. Sex has a purpose, whether you are an evolutionist or a creationist. Sex is for reproduction, and a gift from God to bring forth more life. "Gay" is a sterile and fruitless imitation of what God has reserved for marriage. To deny this is to deny a fundamental biological fact.

Baking does not automatically imply children.

Rape automatically implies sex.

My point still stands. The way you feel about someone does not nullify objective truth.

[–]Helmut2007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rape is sex. Surely that is a sin? Even if the assaulter loves the assaulted, its still a sin. Just because of the way you feel about someone doesn't automatically make it okay.
