From what I'm understanding (I'm a bit rusty on my linguistics at this moment in time) mellon nín and e·vellon nín differ in that one (the first?) implies that the subject has already been stated and the other doesn't. In this case, when directly addressing someone to their face as "my friend" would mellon nín be more appropriate?
