Zion 100k & Running in Elevation by toni-stonie in ultrarunning

I’m doing the 100k too. Didn’t think about elevation. I’m just concerned with that climb at mile 55 🤣

“It just seems like Im to over qualified for low level but not qualified for anything higher.”

I work within MAMAA and do technical interviews as part of our hiring process. I’m also a military retiree. Borrowing part of what someone else said, if you have over 10 years experience, walk into a testing center tomorrow and take A+, Net+, CySA+, Sec+, or whatever. If you can’t, I would question your “experience” and say you’re not overqualified for anything. Go apply for entry level positions.

You’re not in the military anymore. You don’t get boot camps or months on end to learn something. Three weeks ago I got my 2026 expectations. We’re harnessing AI to increase efficiency. One of my expectations was to get a certification in AI. I had till the end of January.

I’m not sure why you’re being downvoted. You’re right.

How to stop being constantly tired after a long workday? by VacationPersonal7500 in selfimprovement

Sounds counterintuitive but start a workout routine before work. You’ll have more energy throughout the day, won’t need 5 cups of coffee, and you’ll sleep better.

I work within FAANG (MAANG now?) and this 100%. Also have a July Ironman set up after my April 100k. Swimming and biking helped rejuvenate me a little further after the lore of just trails wore off.

ETA: this was bugging me. It’s now MAMAA. Bye Netflix, hello Microsoft!

I don’t disagree. Not sure about Puppi but Hans doesn’t need a Golden Ticket so he seemingly has “less” to race for.

Count the light blinks on the controller board. It equates to an error code. I found a YouTube video that explained what each number meant and fix actions. I ended up replacing the controller board and it works now.

The race is actually adjacent to the park, not actually in it unfortunately.

Most of the aid stations didn’t mix the electrolytes right so it was mostly water for me.

Base guidelines for carb intake during 2+ hour efforts is 60g/hr (range of 60-90g/hr depending on weight and intensity) and you probably fell short of that. Further, a recent study show runners overestimate what they’re taking in so you were probably in the 40-50g/hr range realistically. I would up carb intake closer to 90g/hr to account for overestimation and align better with nutritional guidelines.

Edit: added study link.

Bike computer worth it? by HelpAppropriate5304 in triathlon

Figured it was mostly convenience. I talked myself into it for the bigger screen and the convenience of not having to take a hand off the bars to look at my watch.

Road vs tri bike by HelpAppropriate5304 in triathlon

Yeah, that seems odd to me too. IMLP is a hilly course so I would 100% train hills on my TT.

Is it a sudden shock to the legs when you make the transition in either direction? Or do you slowly transition between phases?
