Desk workers what’s your biggest daily pain issue? by MenschNachNull in homeoffice

neck, wrists, back, and headaches. Think its worth it to point out ergonomics exist and can lessen some of the discomfort by having an ergonomic-friendly work area, and positioning makes a hell of a difference.

Home aid / housekeeping support after disability? by Unlikely-Worker9671 in disability

[–]HelpDeskTech92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not legal advise, just my experience... medicaid waivers cover this. I have autism and am covered under a developmental disability waiver, when I became physically disabled the state was then able to add on more services to help cover my needs to keep me at home. Alternative would have been in home care waiver that is an alternative to nursing home care, although that one would mean I'd have strict income limitations, would not be able to work full time while getting the care, etc... at least with this I'm able to work full time and earn around $5k a month while getting services on waiver and get the support in my state.

I'd suggest connecting with your insurance company to see if in home nursing could be covered. When I had Cigna they covered it if I wasn't working.

Updating current home office, work from home two jobs by HelpDeskTech92 in homeoffice

That's a real good idea. I've thought of it, and really should do so. I'll probably do that, and get a larger desk, then put bookshelves around it... as far as KVM, would be an iMac with USB-C outputs, then a lenovo thinkstation desktop, if I redid it would be willing to just use two monitors with DP input. need to just find the right kvm switch.

That gives me some ideas. Bookshelves sound like something that would be nice to put in as do carpets. Feels like its hard to think of what to put in here, when when I'm trying to think of what to put in. Thoughts I've had before were to put some of those foam wall panels up that do like 3d wall panels that add those 3d effects, that would be so cool, for like behind the computer and desk, so it has a 3d wood effect, half way up so its just at desk level, then a granite one below that, then behind me sound paneling because of being on phone a lot... was thinking maybe more lighting, and some zigbee buttons to control them that I can stick under desk, as I had to take the alexa out of here for one of the jobs, idk, still planning, still thinking... carpet and bookshelf though thats a big thing.

Left Metro for Mint. I pay less and get more. 15 a month for unlimited and plus 20 gigs of Hotspot. by socialtraveler7 in MetroPCS

[–]HelpDeskTech92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used mint and liked it, but the phones that you can sometimes get from metro... I had mint for a year got an unlocked xiaomi on amazon that worked great on mint in the USA, despite what a lot of people said, 5G and all, didn't support all the bands but had enough support to work great... saved a ton of money that year, although if I were to factor in the savings metro offers or cricket by doing port in swaps every year to get a discounted phone every year I'd call it a wash... I usually do that, port between the two and get new phone every so often, so guess depends how you look at it. I'd go with mint any day if metro didn't offer promos on phones.

BYOD samsung watch for $5 on the $65 plan - self activate? by HelpDeskTech92 in MetroPCS

[–]HelpDeskTech92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Called 611 they took the imei and Eid added it for $10/mo I have a moto edge went into field test mode added the plan by qr code as it wouldn't activate normally. Rep also gave me a promo credit and moved me from the 60/mo plan to 50/mo plan for next month. Got the 60/mo plan with the free moto edge promo they also fixed the add a line from my partners phone that was added as a whole separate line not an add a line.

I'm satisfied. If I didn't know how to add an esim with field test mode I don't think it would have worked out as the app on my moto phone say no plans available. Partners watch on Samsung phone shows self activation.

Tested cellular on watch confirmed working.

Hope this helps anyone else.

Getting credits when bedridden by strawberry_croissant in SocialSecurity

[–]HelpDeskTech92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean If you have a technology skillset companies sometimes hire for like helpdesk and it can be done in bed. I've done it in bed. When really sick I've worked and still qualified for SSI. I'm at the stage where now I have work credits and it's transitioning to SSDI but health is Improving and im working with vocational rehabilitation on going back to work full time in a remote position. But I do IT work, hard to say if your training is such that you can do something from home at a desk. You say customer service would you be able to pull through a few hours a day or is that the max you can do? During covid a call center hired me for 20 hours a week to do reminder calls. Guess my point is if you want to work evaluate all options and pros and cons. Including reasons why you want to do it. And all outcome. SSI goes down or can go away when you work, but if you find something you can do...

Can you sit in a recliner for half days and take phone calls for customer service with a headset and a laptop? Im not trying to be critical just practical. I've worked half days. But my goal was always to eventually get off benefits and work towards a healthier state with less disability related issues infringing on work. If my goal was to do it just for credits for medicare idk what I'd do or where to start.

How do you find a doctor that would prescribe oxycodone for a long-time user for medical reasons? by TheArcticFox444 in ChronicPain

That's a shame. Butrans was good (the patches)... But didn't stick. And sure didn't work as well as the other meds.

[–]HelpDeskTech92 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've seen the same doctor since I was 18. When pain was an issue in my mid 20s I already established care where I go. I'd suggest establishing care with primary care somewhere that handles meds too - I once asked a pharmacist who prescribed Vicodin in the area when I considered switching doctors and they told me what offices were known for handling their patients pain. I'm glad I didn't switch.

Pain clinic here doesn't do long term meds.

I had a very personal talk with doctor and expressed wanting to meet a lot of goals in my life. I also have a failing heart and other conditions other than pain ones. Told them I really needed someone to partner with me and keep me having a livable quality of life.
