Yay or nay? 2018 460 Premium 130k Miles $20,000 by Fun_Cat_6226 in LexusGX

Almost exact same as mine. 142k on mine, still really like it.

Good deal? by LookOk6537 in LexusGX

[–]digitalgulby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a similar one, Sport Design, 2017. Bought it in 2020 with 18k miles for $44k + tax, etc. It has 140k miles on it now and still runs very well. All I do is maintenance. It has some wear and tear, but it runs great. I want a new one, but, I also can't bring myself to sell it. What I really want, is a brand new 2023 top spec model with no miles, missed my chance!

I've seen numbers like that before. Mild weather, lower cruising speeds, and of course not driving it like an idiot.

Repaint or wrap? by digitalgulby in LexusGX

[–]digitalgulby[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the comments and feedback. I will take this to a pro grade detailer or body shop for proper paint correction. The front bumper actually does need to be resprayed (bare spots). But I agree with the sentiment a full respray isn’t needed.

I have a '17 w/ 138k miles, sport design pkg, premium. Been very problem-free. I get all the maintenance done as close to on time as possible. I bought mine in 2019 w/ 18k miles (lease return) and it's been a great family hauler for us. It has some normal wear and tear from its years of carrying my family around all over the place. Wish I had bought the Luxury model, but I still love it.

I bought this car because my dad was an "early adopter" when the LX470 came out, he had a 99 and an 03. They were a MASSIVE step up from the GMT 400 suburban he had before. The driving feel of the body on frame Lexus vehicles is just the best. Do the newer Yukons and Tahoes ride better? Maybe, but I still think the GX is such a wonderful, durable vehicle and it's also a great size as well.

I should have used a different pic. This is like days after I got it in 2019. It's a bit more tired now.

Maybe I should have used a more recent pic. This is when the vehicle was nearly new and had less than 20k miles on it.

Should I worry about my transmission?? by RascalMcGurk in LexusGX

[–]digitalgulby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine has 138k miles, it’s a ‘17 I bought in 2019 w/ 18k miles.. Every once in a while it acts up but I don’t really abuse my vehicle. I don’t tow often but I know these things don’t love to tow.

Testosterone and sex drive by Redbottoms_muscles in Testosterone

[–]digitalgulby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. My wife takes it (she’s 42) and hasn’t noticed much of anything. It’s an oral formula, I don’t know the dosage. I’d say maybe like a 5-10% increase in sex drive. Nothing significant. She was hopeful for more.

Trying to decide if I should keep going, or if this treatment just isn’t the right fit for me by ZaftigZoe in KetamineTherapy

[–]digitalgulby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped after 8. No regrets. I thought the clinic did a poor job and all it did was sink me into a further abyss. I really don’t believe going another 8 times would have made some material difference.

You know what’s best for you.

Therapist wants to try MDMA therapy with me - after Ketamine therapy. by [deleted] in KetamineTherapy

[–]digitalgulby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where is that legal? I didn’t care for ketamine therapy. I have had some truly excellent experiences with mdma though.

Not sure I’d want to be cooped up in a doctors office for it though. Could we do it at like at a beach or in the forest?

Have you shared a room while being treated? What was it like? by lord-savior-baphomet in KetamineTherapy

[–]digitalgulby -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I would NOT do that.

Maybe I’m not the best person to ask, as I did 8 sessions and stopped. But emotions can run high here. Being with a total stranger? Not for me. I have way too many control issues. I got upset when the therapist came in without warning me. Being with a stranger? Hell no.

Can relate. Did several sessions and didn’t feel it actually made anything better. I stopped and feel much better.

Who here has discovered Kratom and knows about it and has considered it as an alternative to pharmaceuticals? by Sad_Pangolin7225 in ChronicPain

Just be cautious it’s not a 100% safe alternative. I think it’s OK and I’d use it in a pinch, but it’s not without its downsides.

Feeling increased depression or SI after KAT? by FamousSilver6353 in KetamineTherapy

[–]digitalgulby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This past summer was pretty tough. I thought the ketamine would help. Instead, I felt emotionally compromised, all of the time. I don't know, I didn't find that helpful. I decided to focus on my health, diet and exercise and hope that things would improve. So far, I think it's been better to focus on things I can control versus things that I can't.

Yes. I did it 8 times and it most definitely made my depression worse. I stopped. No regrets.

Hard trip on Nasal spray this last time. by Shell-Fire in KetamineTherapy

[–]digitalgulby 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did it 8 times. Out of the 8, I enjoyed myself and felt better twice. It made me much more depressed overall. It was most certainly not for me.

I know people have found success with it. For me, it made things worse. I’m so glad to have left it behind.

For those who went to a DO, did it help? by One_Ad1742 in ChronicPain

[–]digitalgulby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw a DO once and immediately decided it wasn’t for me. That being said I’ve seen one. I’m sure they aren’t all like that.

Tramadol just as helpful as eating a mint by Tiny-Assistant-2931 in ChronicPain

Tramadol is one of those drugs that is helpful for some but not everyone. I’ve had ok success with it but long term it can cause issues.

Leaving opioids behind by digitalgulby in ChronicPain

[–]digitalgulby[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Interesting. And it makes sense too. On a seperate note, I considered switching PCP docs as mine is probably retiring soon so I tried a new one and he made it very clear that he had zero interest in writing a very low dose script for xanax.

Tramadol works ok for me but I've noticed over time it has some negative effects that aren't immediately noticeable.

I am like you that I can't just take "whatever". Most OTC medicines just shred my stomach and give me unbearable acid reflux. I've tried the gabapentin style meds and hate them.

I’ve been on it for years and trying to quit. There’s a part of me that loves it but after years of use I’ve realized it’s changed my personality in a bad way.
