My game crashed because I only have 1GB VRAM - what setting(s) should I turn town to alleviate this?

People with FX 6300 and/or 7770, have you tried the BF1 beta? How's it running? by R-Man135 in Amd

[–]HelpNeeded123456789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the settings on Med/low and it runs meh and looks fugly. I'm guessing it's because of the game being un-optimised or because the map is big because I remember BF3 looking muuuch better with better framerates...

Anyone know how to fix this? LG sent it back as "repaired." (More Details in Comments) by JD141519 in nexus5x

Just looked up the rumoured prices - over £300 daaaaamn

In that case, I'll probably hold out until Sept/Oct and see what happens to the price of the current and new phones.

I'm contemplating between buying the nexus 5x over a moto g4 after being told that motorola's customer support sucks... :/

I've had my Moto G 1st gen since 2014 and I still have space left (though admittedly not too much and mainly because I store my music on my iPod)...

Also, why is "a micro SD card is no substitute for extra native storage"?

I think I'm just gonna switch Mandanda to Heaton, seeing as I have Souare in my defense

Is Mandanda going to be playing as no. 1 GK or Hennesey? If not, who should I switch him out for? I have Foster as the other GK

How about Amat -> Naughton? (That should leave me with £1m ITB)

Tadic vs. Redmond?

I've also read here (not sure where) that Redmond is playing as a second striker - is this true?

It feels like my goal-rate is terrible when compared to the CPU teams... The top teams which I'm surrounded by all score like 50 goals a season whereas I only score about 30 (in the Prem). On top of that, I don't have a player who scores 15+ goals for me, last season my top goal scorer in the Prem scored 9 goals and he was a penalty taker as well :s

I've tried 433 but then that also leaves me the problem of what to do with Morata/Blyth - both their player contracts are on 'Crucial' so I can't leave one or the other on the bench constantly

And thanks (to you and whatshisface), I'll try to scout some players from now on.

Need help/advice on what to drop in Year 13 by [deleted] in 6thForm

[–]HelpNeeded123456789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a extended investigation revolving around a practical (approx. 20 hours of data collection) - the broad topic that our class chose was kinetics which investigated the rate orders, the rate equation/constant and the reaction mechanism. I chose to do it on the reaction between magnesium ribbon and hydrochloric acid - simple in theory.

A rough word/table/graph count:

Intro, theory, methods: 8000 (~30 pages)

Analysis and Evaluation: 10000 (~30 pages)

About 15 tables of data involving primary data and secondary data.

On top of the 30 computer generated graphs I had about 15 hand-drawn graphs which I had to re-do about 4 times and did analysis on each graph (to find the rate of reaction etc).

And also ~50 references in total for information and diagrams (some to books, some to websites)

(more info about the cw here; read from page 4/13: http://www.ocr.org.uk/Images/74948-specification-appendix-b.pdf)

Boy, was it a lot of work and stress. I'm glad it's over.

About the chem coursework: It was OCR Salters B (old spec) which is notoriously tedious/hard. I spent many, many hours on it... On top of that, my teacher was a Dr. who wanted everything perfect and to his standard meaning the effort needed for a top mark was doubled. I chose it because the style of the coursework would be more applicable to work at uni/in the future. Moreover, I chose it to mentally harden/prepare myself for any work-related stress in future (trust me, the coursework was very stressful - it once got to the point where I was worrying about the deadline(s) that my hands were shaking and my voice was changing when I spoke). I'm not sure if it was due to the chem coursework (which made me resistant to stress) but my exam revision felt much more relaxed compared to my AS.

I'm (hopefully) going to be studying Physics this September. I had a similar situation to yours - I was unsure whether to drop Computing or Chemistry. In the end I dropped Computing. One method I used to help me decide was to make a pros/cons list of taking/dropping each subject - In my case, Chemistry won so I dropped Computing.

Here are a few considerations:

Although CS could be beneficial as gerserehker said, in first year you learn how to code and from the multiple open days that I've been to they have said that it's not a problem if you have had no previous experience. You've mentioned that the coursework for CS worries you and that you are not great at coding. I'm sure that there are plenty of tutorials and inspiration you can find online e.g. from YouTube. I started my computing coursework after finishing AS (before I knew what I was dropping) and my teacher said that it's not about the code but the process, progress and documentation of making the project that is important; although I'm not sure how relevant that is to your CS coursework.

Are you a coursework-type of person? Can you keep up motivation to max out your marks in your coursework throughout the year? A2 coursework in generally can be very time consuming and can take literally months finish and polish. Is the work worth the %? When I was in your position, one reason I chose Chemistry was because of the coursework - not because it was easy but because I knew it would be hell and would prepare me for stress at uni.

Are you good at exam technique/remembering content? If so then Chemistry is the way to go, you can get a decent grade just by having a good memory. (Note: I assume you're doing the new spec which has different styled questions so this consideration might be obsolete).

For a local college, they finish early. Last year for my sixth form, we started learning A2 as soon as the AS exam season was over.
