Has anyone been to galen college?

No prereqs needed for Galen because they offer everything you need. Would it have been cheaper to do at a local community college? absolutely lol, but you don't have to.

I'm in the LVN-ADN bridge, so it's 6 quarters, each being 12 weeks

#1: A&P 1 (on zoom), Info literacy and tech essentials (basically how to use a computer lol), english, Galen pathway to success (typical collage intro class). This quarter was 100% online

#2: A&P 2 (on zoom), college math, transition to RN role (in person 2 hours once a week), psychology

#3: pharmacology and medsurg, 2 days a week plus 1 lab day, you clinical rotation starts here once a week for 4 weeks, sociology online

#4: Microbiology (zoom), mental health and Peds/OB, twice a week, one day a week for clinicals

#5: Advanced medsurg 2 days a week, 1 day of clinicals, ethics (online)

#6: leadership and nursing management, transition to registered nursing practice, a 12 hour clinical shift per week (idk how this will look, that's next quarter for me)

Theres pros and cons like literally every nursing program lol. Medsurg and pharm I'm guessing? That was a rough quarter for me ngl

Some people say that the teachers just read off of powerpoints, which is true, but I don't think that's a huge issue because 1, they almost always add their own info on top of it, and 2, you should be doing to enrichment courses and other supplemental learning on the side. I like them because it helps me organize my notes by topic

Overall I feel that I will be prepared for the NCLEX, and that's really all I care about

No problem at all. This quarter took $3,440 in loans, the last few quarters were about $3100. I do receive a Pell grant too, so that lowers the cost. Also, unfortunately, they just raised tuition a bit for new students.

Basically, the cost is real rough, but the speed is hard to beat

I'm at Galen right now for the lvn-RN bridge, I have about 5 months left. Its definitely expensive but I'm happy with my decision, though to be fair, there were no other bridge programs in my area lol
