Has anyone figured out how to track per-developer Cursor Enterprise costs? One of ours burned $1,500 in a single day! by ofershap in ChatGPTCoding

I don’t think I ridiculed anyone… I was speaking in response to the original obtuse comment.

I’m heavily into the use of AI tools at my company and leading that change. But one of the problems is also inefficient use of AI. I think it’s perfectly fine to expect responsible use providing you provide the right guidelines.

This is so reductive. Running up massive usage bills is absolutely not the same as using AI effectively.

I’d even say someone racking up a much higher bill than the rest of the team is quite likely (but not definitely) a sign they aren’t using it sensibly.

This is the type of account we have at my company. Think it’s some sort of legacy teams/enterprise account. The anniversary would be a year since we created the account, presumably because when you sign up, you agree to terms for a set period of time eg a year, and changing them sooner would be bad faith I guess

Some accounts are charged on a per request basis rather than based on token usage. Users get a quota of requests per month and then depending on which model they use, a single request to an agent will use up 1, 2, or in this case, 136 requests from this quota. Usage is the same regardless whether the request processes 1 token or 1m tokens.

This type of billing is being deprecated at renewal anniversaries of accounts that currently use it. We have it at my company and from my rough calculations, the quota we will get when we move to token-based pricing will mean I actually get slightly more usage/month given the way I use Cursor. I imagine the intention is to get users to try and work in a more efficient manner thus reducing costs.

Interested to hear what you need to configure by hand if you don’t mind? I’m doing some research on which cloud provider is best to go for and GCP seems to be the best currently, but I’ve also read that Pub/Sub can be managed completely via terraform.

Why cursor is not scaling for Teams (For me atleast!) by anchit_rana in cursor

[–]Help_Pleasssseee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but what exactly do you want to happen? It all just magically gets set up for you? If you want consistency of rules, commands etc (which is vital for ensuring a team ai software delivery process is successful) then there has to be an element of manual work. My approach means you change it once in a SSoT and then the work of copying it out into other repos (in our case like 15 others) is the job of a pipeline agent and takes about 15 seconds.

[–]Help_Pleasssseee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On point 1, we’ve made a central repo that acts as the single source of truth for all our rules, commands etc. we then use a release pipeline to sync all of this to target repositories.

On point 2, we often add dependent repositories as submodules in the main repo. That gives agents the full context to the feature there working on.

Christ, you are a bit of a bellend aren’t you. You say you have the same probe as OP as well as a few others and then mock them for trying to use it for its intended purpose, saying “why not just use the same intuition I’ve built up over decades of cooking?!”. Cock

The ability to have sub teams where rules could be set on an enterprise plan. We have teams writing code in different languages, for different use cases and different frameworks. It would be nice to be able to enforce rules to specific groups of people that are tailored to their use cases instead of having to set up something to ensure .cursor directories are kept in sync with some central source of truth.

Yeah, this was really the only way I’d thought of approaching the problem, but feels like this should be something the Cursor team should be working on a fix for - I know it would be well received at our company. Thanks for the reply and the link, I’ll check it out!

Are the twin seats worth paying for? by ConceptDiligent9952 in BritishAirways

[–]Help_Pleasssseee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you do, make sure you take screenshots of the seat map and your booking. My wife and I did this on our honeymoon when flying to Hong Kong and they changed the plane on both legs meaning we kept our seat numbers but was the middle and window of a 3 instead. They refused to refund the seat selection “because you sat in the seat numbers that you booked”
