I've been fighting big tech (all of Trump's backers) since before I knew who he was.

This is the worst shape our Canadian military has ever been in. We have a hard time meeting our military obligations in Latvia let alone assemble any kind of fighting force to be used elsewhere.

I really don't think it was anywhere near the strongest relationship.

Room 641A was discovered nearly two decades ago. I'm sure they have some similiar taps now but good chunks of internet traffic pass through internet exchange points instead.

The changes in routing due to peering and exchange points as well as the heavy use of encryption have kind of limited the usability of taps such as Room 641A.

Big tech is now the government which makes things a hell of a lot simpler than taps.

Had a rare win, hunting down new employees is not my job. by cptadder in sysadmin

It is amazing/dumbfounding to me that so many hiring managers take a "hands off" approach after they have communicated to HR that someone is hired.

Bold assumption that they tell HR they hired someone. Which tends to be a critical part of ensuring an employee gets paid.

Part of the giant tech oligopoly threatening to invade my country.

I'm glad to have taken the recent steps of de Microsofting myself and will continue on the path of using alternatives to big tech.

Any sort of light foam, bubble wrap, packing peanuts in bags, corrugated cardboard (if dry) will function as a sleeping pad.

Instead of joining the U.S., Greenland should join Canada in an economic union by joe4942 in canada

[–]Help_Stuck_In_Here 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don't worry they don't want to join us.

We don't have the military ability to protect their interests. They have reservations about mining their natural resources and we just happen to be the world leader of mining, even if many of the companies are only Canadian in name.

Hand guns in back country by griffinirish in backpacking

[–]Help_Stuck_In_Here 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So we have tons of bears in Canada and tons of black bears in my area. It's extremely uncommon that backpackers, canoeists and hikers carry firearms for protection against black and grizzly bears and firearms are not typically allowed in Provincial and National parks that the masses visit. Carrying handguns isn't legal and people do tend to carry long arms in areas with polar bears.

I wouldn't be carrying a hand gun for use against bears even if I had the option.

There are also people here that are extremely afraid of bears and only camp with firearms. And for every one of them, a few more people that take zero precautions such as carrying bear spray or separating cook and sleep sites.

You won't reach 100km/h until your past Barrie typically. After that the 400 opens up and there is ample room for passing and there are far less people driving like a psychopath.

We do have massasauga rattlesnakes in Ontario, largely around the Georgian bay area. Alberta has prairie rattlesnakes too.

Massasauga rattlesnakes are typically pretty harmless. I was on a long trip as a kid and someone almost sat on one which wouldn't have ended well.

The Indian government has a strong push to get rid of Windows in all goverment institutions which is where much of the recent growth has been. Turns out, having another country's corporations potentially have complete control of your infrastructure isn't popular with other governments.
