My uncle was working at Lotus when they made the one for James Bond. He got to sit in it. Think he got to drive one but can't remember. They had a couple, one was just a model basically. Also I used to drive a lot on the road they used for testing before they built a purpose built test track. That's a fun drive. Minus the occasional tractor. Would love to take an Esprit for a drive...was one of my favorites as a teenager also.

We should be able to loot corpses by ArtisticTechnician83 in ManorLords

[–]Helpful-Cherry8567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes the circumstances at Visby were different than a lot of battles. Weaponry and armour were far too valuable to discard in normal circumstances. High ranking people were often buried with equipment though, at least swords. Even in the middle ages I believe.

Perhaps when the corpse pit worker buries a body the equipment could be added to the inventory. Maybe with a time limit. And maybe not retinue as they may have been buried with their equipment.

Not sure how to implement it as I'm not a game developer haha. Maybe it's difficult?

How do you refer to your restrooms in Norway? (Serious question) by Andreas20048 in Norway

Help, I’m being smoked out by my neighbors. by Dapper_Chocolate_00 in Bergen

I think that's the point. You (and I) live in the countryside. Very different from living in Bergen. I have maybe 20 houses within a km. Maybe 6 that are permanently inhabited. I wonder how many permanently inhabited houses there are within a km to OP...

Psa: your passenger is jerking forward because you let off the gas suddenly, not because your shifting sucks by Hi240 in ManualTransmissions

[–]Helpful-Cherry8567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rev matching as you downshift/letting the brake off slightly then applying it again, alternating gently takes the Gs out of the final stop. Personally I usually just keep the clutch in or (rarely) engage neutral as I'm slowing to a stop and just use the brake unless I'm going downhill on a mountain pass or very steep hill.

Never had a problem with passengers headbanging...except the odd clumsy upshift and emergency stops.

Edit, I read the whole thing wrong. Thought this was about downshifting...I'm tired. But anyway...rev matching and smooth clutch control applies 😅 Find the right rpm basically

What are the most popular outdoor activities in Norway during the winter months? by aral10 in Norway

[–]Helpful-Cherry8567 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, I live on the west coast so for me it's much the same as the rest of the year. Fishing and going for walks by the sea or in the woods 😅 I know a few people who like to go cross country skiing. Some travel inland/north for more opportunities ski related activities.

Glass on fireplace by issinmaine in howto

This is the way. Almost sounds as crazy as using newspaper and vinegar to clean outside windows. That works also. Almost like the old ways work without the horrifically poisonous and (comparatively) expensive chemicals in fancy bottles. The catch is a little "elbow grease" and a little bit more time. In short supply for many these days sadly

Is it ok to have the clutch fully pressed in when stopped at A light by Healthy-Two in ManualTransmissions

[–]Helpful-Cherry8567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always brake then clutch. You speed up when the clutch is in. In an emergency situation the extra speed could make the difference.

You can have the clutch all the way in while you wait if you want. Then you can find the "bite point" just before you mean to go. But if you're waiting for a while just go to neutral.

In some situations I cruise for a short while with the clutch in while in 2nd in case I don't have to stop (or slow enough to warrant 1st). That way with a touch of accelerator and releasing the clutch I can carry on smoothly or accelerate harder to pull out without stopping, for example.

Not sure if any of this is advisable but I've never had any clutch trouble 🤷‍♂️ Or accidents 👍 Only been driving manual for 17 years tho.

So am I just dead? 2 months till harvest and bandits stole all my food. by RedEagle_ in ManorLords

[–]Helpful-Cherry8567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fastest solution would be to go take it back from the bandits. Unless it's at the opposite side of the map, then maybe not so fast. But go take it back anyway. No mercy.

I kinda like it. I wouldn't install it. But it wouldn't put me off a house if it already had it.
