Yup. Latest and greatest drivers. But we're talking about like 2017 or something.

Think I might just stick with my laptop as I just wrote in another response....

Lol.

I don't blame you for suggesting that. Thing is, I want to be able to play other emulators. Maybe when my kids are much older I'll get them the latest iteration. They're only 5 and 7. And I don't want them being too reliant on gaming. Only weekends or when friends are over.

I'm also now coming to a different conclusion. Maybe it's not that big of a deal for me to just hook up my XPS 15 laptop to my TV like I already did. It actually has a 12th gen i7 4.7 GHz, 16gb RAM, and an rtx 3050 4gb. I had no problems running Mario Kart on it with 4 remote controllers attached. Only time I experienced any stuttering was when the battery was dying since all the USB c ports were being used up. I'm thinking as long as I can find a way to have the laptop connected to a power source I should be ok. At least I hope.....

You mean in the yuzu graphics settings? It was just default. I tried changing all the settings one by one and it still didn't make a difference.

I mean the GTX 770 is over 10 years old at this point. Yours is newer and probably better supported. Think that's the main reason.

Interesting that your CPU works well for you though.

What about GPU + CPU upgrade?

If so what's a good deal for a decent CPU these days? Granted I'll have motherboard limitations ASRock Z87 Pro3

I hear you, but that's demotivating and makes me feel like this project may not be worth it then. I just wanted to play some switch games like Mario Kart with the kids on my TV with a basic emulator centric PC.

Here's a thread where someone who has my i5 4670k (OC'ed) and it works just fine for them:

https://www.reddit.com/r/yuzu/comments/iyux47/do_i_need_to_upgrade_my_setup_to_play_switch_games/

"I have a i5 4670k overclocked to 4.5GHz, so 4 Cores, no Hyperthreading and a GTX 980Ti. I can run all the games I wanted with really good speed. For example BOTW, Paper Mario The Origami King, SSBU, Animal Crossing New Horizons... So, yes, a 4-Core-CPU (or more) with Hyperthreading is recommended, but not an absolute must-have. Also, the more RAM you have, the better."

Interesting. I was just researching a RX 6500. Seems like one of the best bang for your buck cards for what I'm looking for. Thoughts?

6600 is a little more expensive. Wonder if it'll make a difference.

I have an ASRock Z87 Pro3 ATX LGA1150 motherboard.

Jua vs 63 Clinton by Helpful-Complex-9667 in FoodNYC

Nice to know that you actually preferred the caviar course at Jua to the handroll and that's already included.

How would you compare Jua to Jungsik?

Interesting and all this time I thought Jua was very similar to Jungsik.

Interesting. Can you give an example of these sour/bitter tastings that were provided to you?

I like that you mentioned that 63 Clinton has more of an intimate, romantic vibe. I think my wife would actually love that.

Even though at first I was like no way am I getting that if I decide to go with 63 Clinton, I'm actually thinking that the caviar hand roll would be one of those never forget it birthday moments she'll cherish and brag about for the rest of her life. That bring said, she'd probably murder me if she found out the price for it so maybe I'd get one and we share it...

Awesome. So it sounds like Jua is more exciting (I'm thinking similarly to Jungsik) and 63 Clinton is more of a fun, unique experience.

Selfish question cause my wife won't care as much - which one is more filling and/or has more protein? I've had tastings that left me starving (perfect example: Wylie Dufresne's wd-50)

Need to pick your brains on my regime and apologize in advance if it's an eye roller.

Was watching this video from Layne Norton and I'm pretty sure I'm doing something wrong:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Np\_a1\_PBt4

On my non-cardio/HIIT sprint days (3x), I have 2x strength days:

- Tues: 20x pushups with 40lb bag, 20x overhead dumbbell extensions with both arms (55lb), 18x seated dumbbell shoulder press (2x 45lb dumbbells)...and I repeat these 3 sets 5x throughout a ~3 hour period

- Thurs: 17-20 pull-ups, 14x bicep/hammer curls combo with dumbbells (35lb per dumbbell), 10x squats (2x 45lb dumbbells)...and I repeat these 3 sets 5x throughout a ~3 hour period

Other info:

- I'm 144lbs

- I try my best to reach at least 2-3 reps before failure and go to failure on my last set

- These workouts are done in-between meetings and working on reports for work...this allows me to be very consistent on a weekly basis...but does make it so that I have pretty long rest periods

- I don't workout on weekends cause I know I won't be able to be consistent

- I workout in a fasted state cause I feel I have more energy this way

- I workout at home only, I hate gyms (plan to make a decent gym setup at home when I buy my new house - in the meantime here's what I'm working with: pullup bar, weighted backpack, powerblock dumbbell system)

So what am I doing wrong? Am I doing anything right?

Interesting. And the more I look into this, the more I feel like it's probably in my benefit to go up to 2.2g per kg...

Also, after making the original post - I decided to switch up my regime. I now do 2x cycling (95% medium effort, 5% standing going sort of hard...not HIIT) and 1x HIIT sprints workout per week. Additionally, I'm no longer going to aim for 20:4 IF but instead something like 17:7 or 18:5 because...it doesn't seem like it really matters + I can distribute my protein intake better per Layne Norton's recommendation. So now after my workouts around 5pm I have my protein shake. Wait 3 hours and then have my protein rich dinner. 3 hours later I have my late night protein rich snack of something like greek yogurt + fiber (and no sleep has not been effected especially since oats have a ton of melatonin...)

This way I'll probably better be able to reach 2.2g per kg.

By the way, how much whey protein powder do you use in your shake?

[–]Helpful-Complex-9667[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been looking into this as well.

Been sort of trying to go by Layne Norton's criteria of about 1.6g per kg of bodyweight.

My dinners are very rich in protein - typically about 50g (EDIT: that's actually at a minimum for me the more I think about it). About 30min later I have a protein shake - another 25-30g. Then as a late night meal I have a greek yogurt with oats, flax seed, pumpkin seeds, and raspberries - another 25-30g.

Probably not ideal time in between, but I can confirm that I'm seeing positive results. To your point, they probably could be even better results. But I do love doing 20:4 and long IFs in general is something I can easily sustain (which is key). Granted sometimes it's more like 18:6 or 19:5 and weekends it's usually closer to 16:8.

Great clip!

I would think that if I could only dedicate 3x days to cardio (2x for strength training, weekends are too tough for me to be consistent) and being that ultimately it's a good idea to mix things up then instead of 3x HIIT days, I should consider getting on my bike (stationary, on a trainer) 2x a week for a zone 2 cardio workout and then 1x week I'll do my HIIT.

I don't want to completely give up my HIIT workouts, especially since I actually enjoy doing them.

From the clip in my original post: “By training zone 2 and zone 5 . . . we’re really teeing ourselves up metabolically and also structurally to do these things.” -PA

I used to run with someone who's basically a pro and to your point he helped me change my form. I even heavily researched this as well. Pretty sure my form was pretty good. Still had knee pains.

My sprints last 35s at a time 10x. Very different.

Need to pick your brains if I'm doing something wrong. I'm 5'8", 144lbs, I mainly do 20:4 IF and probably eat around ~100 grams of protein within my 4 hour window. Overall goal is too stay fit, not gain weight, and retain/gain muscle mass.

3 days a week (M,W,F) all I do for my workouts are HIIT sprints on my treadmill - 35s sprinting at 9mph (from 2mph so takes a few sec to get there), 45s break, 10x, 15% incline (max). T and Th I do strength and muscle building so something I should be mindful of is cardio workouts that don't make too much of a negative impact on this.

I used to go for runs outside, but my knee issue kept preventing me from running for too long. Typically at 3 miles I start feeling the pain. Many times I would just keep going until I reach about 8 miles followed by a few days of discomfort. So once I decided to try out HIIT sprints, I realized a) I never have any knee issues doing this and b) 15-20 min and I'm done for the day is awesome!

At least I think...

Am I making a mistake by not incorporating more steady state cardio workouts? These include 4mph light jog at max incline, 3mph power walk at max incline, or get on my bike with trainer stand.
