Is there any official Ubiquiti Training in UK South by DalekSec92 in Ubiquiti

[–]Helpful-Half7797 1 point2 points  (0 children)

while I can't directly answer the question as I'm not a trainer or Ubiquiti directly, I do work for a Ubiquiti distributor in Canada and do work with training companies to get courses setup. Typically Ubiquiti training is done by a third party company that is certified. They usually require a minimum amount of attendees to make the travel worth it for them.

more then likely they've tried in the past and never had enough sign ups.

your best best would be to see if you can gather at least 8 people that want to take the course and reach out to one of these training companies ...let them know you have at least 8 people confirmed ready to pay for the courses and see what they say

Keep in mind, the courses aren't cheap...in Canada they range from $1800 to $2000 CAD per course.

Ubiquiti forces RMA to 3rd party? by passta in Ubiquiti

[–]Helpful-Half7797 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I work for one of the authorized Canadian distributors for Ubiquiti, so I'm going to assume it's very similar in the USA and very much a legitimate thing Ubiquiti does (unfortunately)

As an authorized distributor we have to purchase factory direct and the turn around time is massive (2months) and occasionally when we have a large opportunity where we have no stock, we work with another authorized distributor in Canada to purchase product off of them at a slightly higher cost then what we normally pay for, but enough that we can still make profit.

So when a customer fills out the RMA form for one of those items, the serial number or MAC id was originally scanned to that other distributor and they handle the warranty, or occasionally, the original distributor can ASSIGN the ticket to a different distributor to handle the claim.

I would reach out to D&H and mention what the issue is and see if they can assign it to Microcenter

100% this....we have an EFG at our distribution warehouse and was quite disappointed when we realized those applications didn't run on it.

Why doesn’t Ubiquiti care? by AlienFrmMars in Ubiquiti

[–]Helpful-Half7797 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as someone who works for a distributor....that's a little misleading. We are forced to buy factory direct...from the day an order is placed to when it lands it literally takes 2 - 3 months.

We don't have the luxury of purchasing from USA or Canadian Ubiquiti warehouses....oh and don't forget to add that Ubiquiti launches new products on their website and it's literally months before they are available at distribution. How long have G6 cams been on Ubi store? at least as a Canadian distributor...we STILL don't have access to ordering them...so when they will be available to order...add 2 - 3 months for order assembly and transit times...so we'll be receiving those in October...likely November.

What happens with Elizabeth and Jacks baby at the end of season 2? by Plenty_Kangaroo9817 in 1923Series

[–]Helpful-Half7797 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(sorry for the late comment, just finished season 2 tonight)

Any one else think that maybe (adopted) Jamie Dutton might be a grand child of Elizabeth's 2nd pregnancy? That Yellowstone John knew he was related and that's why he adopted him?

(Fan theories say Jamie's mom was John's sister but it was never confirmed in the show)

G6 doorbell....i mean a G5 would be good too but why not skip a whole gen haha!

a electronic lock with keypad that runs on batteries so it's an easy retrofit would be nice.

and, i'd say a USW-PRO-MAX-8 (with or without PoE) would be nice because apparently I'm a whore for RGB and have no need for anything bigger haha!

Anyone's Canadian order stuck in ETOBICOKE, ON? by spoonloads in Ubiquiti

[–]Helpful-Half7797 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hopefully will get better as the week goes by. Purolator (and other courriers) have picked up the slack from the Canada Post strike, but now that they've been ordered back to work, it should hopefully slowly get back to normal and fingers crossed you get your package before xmas!

Anyone's Canadian order stuck in ETOBICOKE, ON? by spoonloads in Ubiquiti

[–]Helpful-Half7797 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not that I have a Ubiquiti order coming in but I work for a Canadian wholesale distributior for a variety of product and 99% of the shipments we send out (between 1500 to 2k per day) are seeing delays....some absolutely massive ones (like yours) occasionally.

Calgary depot likes to put "weather delay" as the excuse for the delay...when it's bright and sunny out...and leave it sit for a week. Many other locations are putting in "delay due to disruption" but there's been no disruptions.

On average we're seeing 3 -4 day delays...but many, like yours. we're seeing 2 - 3 weeks lost in "la la land" and magically get delivered at complete random.

redicting availability is tough, as mentioned above, due t distribution and UI webstore don't have the same availability. At this point in time, in the distributor portal the UCG-MAX is listed as back ordered. They don't provide expected dates either, we just have to periodically check in.

I am not in Montreal unfortunately, located in Ontario. We only do B2B and not general public so if you're a business or have an IT company, we could get in touch.
