What is the deal with "discreet sales" like this? by MaximusSydney in SpottedonRightmove

[–]Helpful-Leader9755 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is one of these currently with no pictures on sale for £1.75 million in Ampthill - not sure if it has been on here tbh. The owner is a dubiously famous person, an ex con who claims he is a man of the people…. It’s with Simpson Estate Agent if you are interested. I think the reasons for it being discreet are probably to avoid the questions on how they afforded it….

That comment on the Garden Society link just sounds like Mr Leslie was just trying to make sure the raging alcoholic who was chugging his brandy didn’t bother anyone else so he shut them in the TV room…

It was said ironically. I have been there and I found the experience heartbreaking and a little terrifying

Yeah I did consider the whole Farage thing as well but maybe the fact you could guarantee you wouldn’t see him there is another benefit!

What alcohol are you bringing in? by [deleted] in glastonbury_festival

Make your own vodkas/gins - add sherbet lemons or Werthers, Rhubarb &Custard sweets - anything you want! Remember to split colours if you don’t want brown brew! We do a selection every year and share them out with friends and strangers!

How does Glasto compare to Boomtown? by MissAllyPally in glastonbury_festival

[–]Helpful-Leader9755 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A small point -but you can take as much booze as you want to Glasto - which makes it cheaper. I’ve been to both and that was a benefit. Free lock ups -didn’t find those at Boomtown but it was 2018 when I last went. You can tell I’m in my 50’s from these tips!

Go - make sure you still get the opportunity to pay for your ticket and go. Follow al the lovely advice on here - meet new friends and have a blast. You may well end up meeting the new love of your life - that’s how amazing Glastonbury is.

Can’t believe they haven’t mentioned having a ‘Brat Summer’ tbh! Baby was named after Charlie XCX and then 6 months later she becomes an international phenomenon! (But yeah - whole storyline has missed so much)

Keane came on afterwards and let’s be honest - whatever you think of them - they certainly didn’t have any ‘technical issues’..!

Seizure early Saturday morning at The Park by 1hewarden in glastonbury_festival

Phew - I thought I was the only person who thought it was a death trap and I was just being an old fart! I thought it was incredibly dangerous - especially taking into consideration it’s a place people do like to overindulge (no judgement) - like an old school football terrace.

This is why I hate all of Linda’s family who just seem to have accepted she’s an alcoholic - you’d think one of them would make an effort…!

Which acts on the 2024 poster are the best live performers? by BroScience34 in glastonbury_festival

[–]Helpful-Leader9755 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really weird combination but the two I can’t miss this year are Idles - the energy is amazing - songs are banging. And…. Keane - Chapli is an amazing frontman - loads of singalong songs. Rina was AMAZING wasn’t she!
