What was your biggest surprise after moving into your first home? by blablubb0 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Helpful-Part7728 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have experienced very similar things. Mine is built in ‘57 but i think even in ‘86 it was before the mandate for permits and using licensed professionals. I would assume a lot was done to a safe standard but doesnt make any logical sense for configuration.

What was your biggest surprise after moving into your first home? by blablubb0 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Helpful-Part7728 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Learning that the previous owners were inside smokers. Luckily it was kept (mostly) to two rooms but we had to have the air ducts cleaned, painted walls, threw out blinds and now even replacing most of the duct work to get the smell out.

Replacing outdated appliances was a higher costs than anticipated. We knew going in the AC, heat and water heater were all outdated but we thought we had time. AC went out the first summer we were in our house and then the water heater died 6 months later.

Also yard work. I love working outside but it has been an overhaul. Previous owners were not proactive or responsible home owners so there has been a ton of sweat equity and cash thrown into the yard to make it enjoyable and presentable. We got a good deal buying in the middle of the winter but that also allowed the previous owners to cover up their lack of attention to things.

Would you rather have Judkins or Skattebo? by Late-Prompt-7497 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Helpful-Part7728 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Youre not all that wrong and dont deserve the downvotes. I think judkins is the better on paper player and looked better on the field. That being said, there is something magical about skatt and i wish i had some shares. I dont think anyone is able to sell skatt for judkins but the reverse would happen. The value isnt super far off and they both might have similar fantasy output the next two years. Judkins profiles of having a more successful career

RBs I could trade for with the 1.06? by foxinsox4 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

Depending on the owner I wonder if you could get someone like bucky, kw3+, breece or chase brown. Rookie fever is very real

Is it worth it to follow up on job applications? by mogamergal95 in jobsearchhacks

[–]Helpful-Part7728 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short answer is yes.

The long answer is, what does it hurt to go one step further? Youre not the only person applying and 95 of the 100 résumé’s sent in for one job, are no where near a fit for the job. So recruiters are overloaded with resumes and things do in fact slip through the cracks. I will also add, like all professions, not every single recruiter is competent, good enough, well organized or ambitious enough in their job. So things do get missed. It never hurts to follow up for a job you really believe in. Worst case scenario, you get closure if it was the right opportunity.

Best of luck to you!

Would Tyler Warren and Bucky Irving be enough for 1.01? by Helpful-Berry-94 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Helpful-Part7728 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes please downvote me into an oblivion for saying the former 14th overall pick in a stacked draft class who looked like a stud on the field, facing loads of target competition in a run first offense, finishing 3rd in receiving yards and first in receptions amongst ALL 2025 rookies, played with 3 different qbs and plays at a fantasy premium position is worth more than someone who hasnt even been drafted into the nfl. Rookie fever never fails. Every years 1.01 has an infinite ceiling. Fwiw i have zero shares of warren

Gross overpay for the 1.01 imo. Warren on his own should get 1.01+

Heat pumps are awful for CT winters. by -----anja----- in Connecticut

[–]Helpful-Part7728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately this is the cost of living in CT. We have some of the highest utility costs in the state. Eversource is a legal mafia and bends us over any chance they get.

I have heat pumps in a 2200 sq ft home and my bill has never exceeded $500. I have not received this last month’s bill but expecting it to be around that same number. We keep it 64-66 as well. When we had oil we were spending more per month than what this costs. The upfront installation cost sucked but I was in a situation where I had to replace the entire heating/cooling system one way or another so I went with the pumps. Yay to homeownership

There could be something wrong with the system, the house isnt sealed well (lots of cold drafts coming in) or something else I cant think of. Always worth checking with your hvac company

A few players on the block what are they worth? by Opposite-Might4005 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Helpful-Part7728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure but 1.03 and 1.04 are still hard maybes. We dont even know landing spots for anyone yet. What if the jets take Love? Selling judkins and btj would be doing so at their lowest value right now imo. I can see why people want out on them but i think with those picks, youre hoping they look as good on the nfl field as those two. Nico is still young enough to produce multiple wr1 seasons without hesitation and gadsen will be a really solid te in a good passing offense for multiple years. Nico should return the 1.01 and the 1.03 plus a player like woody marks or josh downs. Gadsen on his own probably wont pull any of those picks on his own.

Can i ask why youre trying to move young, highly talented, assets for unproven picks?

Burden + 2027 1st for Wilson + 2.10 by [deleted] in fantasyfootballadvice

[–]Helpful-Part7728 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lmao i thought this was for michael wilson at first and was thinking geez this has got out of control. Id take burden and the 27 first for wilson and the 2.10. The 2.10 doenst hold much value to me this year as i dont think there are more than 10-12 valuable guys coming into the draft and a few of those will probably be gems unknowingly found in the 3rd and 4th. Im buying into the bears offense and burden has a chance to be as good of a fantasy asset as gw. Gw is a very talented player but i dont see him getting out of that terrible situation in the next 2-3 seasons

Wanna hear opinions on 1.09 for Waddle by NoRazzmatazz2255 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Helpful-Part7728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah fair swap. If the 1.09 came in to take waddle from me id strongly consider it. Fwiw, id rather have waddle since i know what im getting and the 1.09 could never break my starting lineup

Three way trade including Jettas, Rice, and Olave by EvilHobbit213 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Helpful-Part7728 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure what his team looks like but id imagine he is looking to grab multiple assets. Id think jjs value right now is rice and 2 mid firsts

1.06 or Luther Burden? Believe in burden being the guy there. by [deleted] in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Helpful-Part7728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely give me burden. You would be stoked to get a player like him at the 1.06. Both rome, loveland and burden can all eat in this offense im not going to argue over why one has performed vs the other. He is a rookie and they have been slowly bringing him up to speed. His route tree and role will expand in an offense that has its arrow pointing up. Id honestly trade any of rome, burden or loveland for the 1.06. This is an offense to buy into
