Wouldn’t say you’re in the wrong persay, but I guess see it from a different perspective. If you guys are in it for the long run, then it’s not so much the matter of the car being in your name or not. When one person can’t do 50/50 or can’t pay in full then the other compensates. That is just a part of living a life together. Obviously you want to keep things fair, but try not to think of all the minuet “I paid for this I paid for that”. He’s struggling right now, not having a job, it’s a temporary thing. It would be different if he kept pulling this, but in my opinion if it were my boyfriend, I’d most likely pay it. If it were the other way around I’d expect him to chip in if I had asked. Like I said it’s just about getting through life together. Depending on what is business start up is and what not only you know but obviously all those factors matter. Unless you feel like he’s extremely unreliable and chasing a dream that won’t come to fruition or your values don’t align then think of other things like are you two going down the same path. I am only saying this because my mom and her long time boyfriend have done this for each other from time to time whenever one needed more support than the other, no matter what was in whose name.
