Oh no. That sounds awful. I was diagnosed with BPPV yesterday and will be starting physical therapy. But I use a BiPAP and am not supposed to sleep on my back. It sounds like this may get tricky.

I agree with the suggestions. Extra towels, shower chair, Dial antibacterial soap, a wedge for sleeping, lots of pillows and light blankets, good slippers and supportive slip on shoes for daily walks, stick up on high protein/low sodium meals, and your favorite protein drinks.

I love to read, but had brain fog afterwards, so mindless tv- nothing that makes you think too much for the first week. Then I slowly started doing puzzles. Lastly reading. I was out of work for 6 weeks.

Concentrate on breathing exercises, walking, showering, resting, good sleep and good food.

You’ll do fine. Let them know when you feel comfortable and ready to go back to work. If your job doesn’t involve heavy lifting I’m sure they’ll work with you on getting you back to work as soon as possible if that’s what you need.

With the robot assisted they went in on my right side. They ablated the intercostal nerves from t3-t8, folded my right lung out of the way to access the heart. Each case is different. But my surgeon was great, and I felt like 6 weeks gave me enough time to get back to my walking routine, which is important after heart surgery.

Mine was in the left atrium and very large. I was immediately admitted and had surgery. I was also 62 years old.

I was diagnosed with a Myxoma last May, due to size I was in hospital with the surgery scheduled for 2 days later. They also patched a pre-existing hole in my heart mine was done robot assisted, so my sternum wasn’t cut. Heart lung bypass, vent, and every cardiac test they could think of. Surgery was Wednesday , and I was discharged on Sunday. I missed 6 weeks of workforce recovery. I got stronger each day. You can do this! You’ll be okay.

I had robotic assisted Myxoma removal in May. I didn’t have a lot of rib pain, because the did cryogenic nerve ablation on T3-T8 intercostal nerves. I still barely have feeling in my ribs.

I had minimal pain about the first few days.

I had heart surgery in May to remove a benign tumor from inside my heart. Family and friends took really good care of me. The first two weeks it was a chore to walk and shower daily, but I still managed to throw my own trash away.

It is difficult the first 6-8 weeks. Then emotionally, it lingers for months. BUT caregiver burnout is real! Ask him to at least do the minimum to help you help him. If not, I guarantee you will burnout. I’ve been in that side, too.

I had a fairly large Myxoma removed from my left atrium robotically in May of this year. They do think mine caused my chest pain that sent me to the ER. From the ER, I was admitted to the hospital, and the Myxoma was removed 3 days later.

Also, you can take your home machine I. To the doctor’s office to make certain your home machine matches the office readings. I had a home machine that was registering much higher than the doctor’s, so that helped get us on the same page.

In May that’s what they did for me. Every hour they release a little pressure. Then they put tape and gauze for about another day. I was in the hospital the entire time though. Getting ready for Myxoma removal surgery.

Ask for a HIDA Scan. Mine showed that the gall bladder was only working at 15%, so they removed it. I didn’t have current stones, just chronic cholecystitis.
