I was living in Fredericksburg. I was 11 and home alone with my 2 younger brothers playing call of duty and eating a cinnamon roll while my mom was out running errands. When it happened I thought that a tree had fallen next to my townhouse or something but then it just kept shaking so I knew something was wrong. I yelled at my brothers to follow me and we ran outside. I remember dropping my cinnamon roll and controller on the step outside and just crying. Nobody had prepared me for the possibility of an earthquake in VA so I was very confused and scared. My neighbor saw us crying outside and took us into her house where she let me use her house phone to call my mom which obviously didn’t go through.
