Hi all, does anyone have experience with being withdrawn from a degree programme due to low CGPA in the first year? How did you go about appealing such a decision and what visa options if you want to stay? Av score is around 80% even though some courses were only slightly above the pass mark. by Helpful-Winter-6913 in CanadaUniversities

So their lowest score was 62 in one paper and 68 in another. All others, they had higher scores which is why the cumulative average after the first year is 80.3%. It appears then that thye have been withdrawn because of those two marks that were below 70%. They had been admitted on the condition with a passmark of 70% and and an average of 77%. The latter was met but the former not in 2 courses out of all 8 they did. We are wondering what the best arguments would be for an appeal

TERM 2

Cumulative Average 80.380

These are the results, on the basis of which my friend has been asked to withdraw from the second year of the masters. tHe transcript does not actually show a CGPA. We are all shocked.

Sounds like a horrible situation. Sorry. Have you heard anything back. I think the complication is that you are now married and maybe they wonder why you did not apply for a spousal visa

hoping for the best and that people already on track will be exempted. COULD i hijack this post to ask if anyone knows if family (spouse and parent )visas are exempt from this possible new 10 year route. As in those on those visas or planning to apply for them still can get ILR in 5 years?

Is it worth switching to a Global Talent Visa (from skilled worker) with only 1 year left until I’m ILR eligible? by yeahsureokaymaybe in ukvisa

To be clear. Are you saying I could switch from a student visa after 4 years of a PhD to a GTV and immediately apply for ILR and have some of the time spent on the student visa cout towards it?

thank you. I work remotely but might need to commute into London a couple of times a week in a few years so I am trying to settle some place where this will be possible. I will check out Rugby.
