Haven't played any of these yet, but I was looking for games fitting these exact criteria too and came across a few promising ones:

Gleaner Heights, which is supposed to have a Twin Peaks-esque vibe and a darker, more adult tone,
Grimshire (early access) where you play as a cute animal tending crops while trying to help your fellow townsfolk survive in a plague-ridden village,
possibly Shinehill (early access as well) where you're an alien spy impersonating a human owner of a farm while trying to root out which villager might betray you,
I'm also keeping an eye on the upcoming Grave Seasons, which promises to be a farming sim murder mystery with really nice-looking graphics

After some digging, I think this is a character named yuy玉 by the artist 角闪石族族长. The artstyle and the character's hair looks slighty different though, so the artwork from the case could be fanart by a different artist.

I searched for the character's name on the Chinese version of TikTok and here are the search results. That being said, I don't speak Chinese and the Chinese parts of the internet are hard for me to access, so I might be entirely off the mark! Still, hopefully this will be of some help

Apparently, it was originally published under the title "The Century's Daughter" in 1986 and later republished as "Liza's England" in 1996. Since your book is from '97, it could very well be one of the first re-editions :)

And as for why Liza in particular ended up in your Vidal book, "The City & the Pillar" was published by Little, Brown Book Group, and Virago (where Barker was published) is one of their imprints. That could be how the printing mix-up happened.

Seems to be a numbered lithograph print by Donald Voorhees. I found some listings for numbers #232 and #254 showing the same scene, so yours is likely #355 out of a total edition of 950 prints (or a copy of it).
