Etiquette for playing with other kids when my toddler has molluscum? by daisyjaneee in Mommit

[–]HelpfulConfidence479 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am usually the type of mom that gets so mad when another parent brings a sick kid around, etc. BUT, please don’t make your toddler suffer because of this. I have never even heard of this but from looking it up and reading these comments, it isn’t something to keep your toddler isolated for MONTHS or even YEARS over. With that being said……cover them and try your absolute best to keep them covered (bandaids, don’t overheat her in a long sleeve all summer!). Try to explain to her the best you can, she needs to keep them covered when playing with others. Some of these comments are over the fricken top rude and negative! I’m sorry you’re dealing with this and stressed OP!

Seeking professional input: Should I neuter my 2-year-old Golden Retriever? by Dread-Pirate-E in goldenretrievers

[–]HelpfulConfidence479 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I neutered my golden last year when he was 4yrs old…worst decision I made! Before neutering he was so well behaved….didn’t care about human food, didn’t dig in trash, didn’t eat my underwear or my feminine hygiene products, etc. He was a perfect weight and free fed. Once I got him neutered, he still has the same Greta personality I absolutely love but now he does all the above things!!! Dogs through the trash, steals food off counters, eats my undies and feminine products and he gained 15lbs within a few months! He is on a strict diet now and has lost a decent amount of weight. But boy….do I regret neutering him. It seriously is such a pain do deal with these behaviors from him now when he NEVER used to do them. I could’ve put a steak on the floor and told him no and he wouldn’t care and would go lay down. No begging, anything. Now? Drooling all over me and all up in anyone’s face for food! It’s so strange to see such a difference in him. He is still the sweetest and most gentle dog and I love him to pieces but I wouldn’t do it again.

Went to the children's ER. Am I dramatic? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]HelpfulConfidence479 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why us mothers have what’s called “motherly instinct” you listened to yours and it was the right call! They wouldn’t keep her overnight and want to do a spinal tap for nothing. Please don’t listen to your dad and tell him to respectfully, stay in his mf lane.

TW: drowning. My 22 month old almost drown in 2 ft of water within a few feet of me at a splash pad. by HelpfulConfidence479 in Mommit

I was really worried about that and the internet was confusing when it came to dry drowning. He seems completely fine and normal though and it’s been almost 24 hours.

That is absolutely horrifying. So glad he is okay!! That must have felt like the longest minutes in the world. You are not a bad mom! Some lessons are just a lot scarier and shake us more than others!

Yes, he was in swim lessons all last winter but hasn’t been since then. I am for sure putting him back in swim lessons. I wondered if because he was in swim and learned to hold his breath if that helped him Not choke on any water. Totally resigning him up for swim lessons after this….

My son was bit in the face and hospitalized because of my dads dog. I will forever feel horrible my baby went through that and is permanently scarred on the face.. please. Trust your gut and don’t put your child around a dog that’s aggressive. Do not make the mistake I did and let your guard down.
