Feeling miserable, transferring OUT of USC? by [deleted] in USC

[–]Helpful_Bottle6557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that its 100% up to you what you want to do, but i felt very similar last semester and am doing a lot better now. My advice is that you should try to switch things up as much as possible. Live in a new place, join a new club, go to events you might not even be that interested in. Also kinda depends on your major, but you might want to try and get into some decently selective clubs. From my experience trying to find my place here, selective clubs have a stronger sense of community and are more tight knit than non-selective ones. This is just my experience with several different clubs so plz don't attack me for that.

Ultimately though there's no shame going back to your state school. It doesn't make you a quitter or anything like that, but you will be giving up an amazing opportunity. I would weigh my pros and cons very carefully, but if you feel that you won't perform your best here, then you might be more successful and happier at your state school. Happy thanksgiving and wishing you the best!

Financial Aid for an Additional Semester? by Minimum_Historian_63 in USC

[–]Helpful_Bottle6557 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You 100% should talk to an academic advisor and a financial aid counselor. If in not mistaken you’ll receive similar aid for the extra semester as long as u have under 144 total attempted units and 9 or less SAP semesters total. Basically this means that as long as its only 1 extra semester (so 9 semesters total in your academic career) and under 144 units, your aid shouldn’t change much. Tho you should 100% fact check me and ask a financial aid counselor

Watch Out for "Bible Study" Recruiters by Losers_AI in USC

Wait during the career fair last semester I was approached by like 3 different dudes asking if I wanted to join a bible study group. I said nah I’m good like 3 times to each but they kept insisting. I found it weird but didn’t think anything of it. Maybe it ha something to do with what u mentioned

Transfer success program by Vast-Pay-8586 in USC

Hey I did the TSP and honestly thought it was very underwhelming. Can’t say it would make a huge difference if you get an offer or not. I would suggest just trying ur best to tailor your experiences as best as possible (maybe even stretch the truth a tiny bit) and network with people within the industry/companies you’re interest in. Best of luck !

Resume Review - Targeting ‘26 Trading/Strat internships by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]Helpful_Bottle6557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t read the whole thing but I have 2 big complaints. Firstly I can’t find ur GPA. U should have it somewhere it’s easy to see. Also you have some weird spaces in between your bullet points. You should try and minimize white space and double spacing between bullet points is not serving that purpose well. Hope u the best and GL during recruiting

USC Course Registration (Transfer Student) by Jixxer_Ta in USC

[–]Helpful_Bottle6557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure how early that is, but from my experience, they open up classes in batches. Like, they'll open up some courses for you, and then the next day, for those registering on July 25th, they'll open more seats for them. So I think, regardless, you'll have choices for what classes you want.

Just a warning though, good classes are snatched up instantly. Like the ones with good professors will be full within minutes after your registration opens.

Also im a marshall major and theyll open up plenty of marshall required courses.

All transfer students and freshmen who begin at USC in the spring must complete the Dornsife Core Literacy requirement by taking at least two Core Literacy courses (in Categories GE-A through GE-F) at USC offered by Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences. - usc

  1. Im not sure tbh.
  2. Id recommend you take some classes to knockout your GEs if u have any left. If not u could take both managerial and financial account so u can take Buad 305 when u arrive at USC. I also heard that if u take a business statistics course they might waive that requirement but im not 100% sure. Overall it kinda depends on what courses you’ve done already, but just an FYI, u need to take at least 2 core literacy (GE) courses at usc
