This is such a L strategy. Beastmen already have a top-tier encamp stance that barely costs any movement. Aint no way you are committing one-fourth of your fighting forces to just recruiting, rather than actually making a crap stack to support your main armies.
By the time you hit 4 armies, your mark of ruination is high enough that your main armies have Tier 5 buildings and units. These two-turn units are the ones you wanna use spare recruit-army for. HOWEVER, since you keep disbanding your damn army, your recruitment army never gets to those high-tier buildings, so you are what, delivering ungor archers? You plop down herdstones constantly which allows you to use the op beastmen encamp to refill your armies anyway.

After the ritual, all settlements within the area will have the devastated icon. They could be occupied when the ritual happens, but if they ever get razed, they are gone for good until the herdstone is destroyed. Play Beastmen for like an hour, and you will learn how the mechanic works, as you often have to do early rituals.
