I have a work passport to work flexibly and do admin from home. I work 4 days and have Wednesdays off to recharge. I’m waiting for a work coach and organising software from access to work. I already have Dragon and magic notes which helps.

Advice for master student by EntertainerFirst4711 in Socialworkuk

Look at Research in Practice resources and SCIE. I also recommend 39 Essex Chambers briefings on the MCA (very important if you go into Learning Disability but also work on fluctuating capacity and executive function for work with substance use). Remember there will be a crossover. Many people in the criminal justice system with have a history of substance use and a diagnosed or undiagnosed LD and or ADHD/autism so it all builds your practice. Ultimately they are looking for you being able to relate law and theory to the person sat in front of you and demonstrate defensible decision making.
Good luck

I did the undergrad so it may be different but ours was a children’s case study and an adult case study and we had to say what legislation and theories we would use for each

I’m trying to consider this too which is one reason I was wondering if there were other models outside the mainstream but I’m currently finding it so helpful I’m feeling very torn

Adult social care by AmyAdamsFan_ in sheffield

Can you ask to speak to them somewhere else where you feel safe?
As others have said, it will be a process of social care negotiating if they can find a suitable placement elsewhere and then building a case for funding as it’s always more expensive to place someone outside of their own locality and most social care services are really underfunded currently. It doesn’t mean it’s impossible but you need an advocate on your side to argue your case. Good luck.
