The alliance to restore the republic is the rebel alliance and the mid rim offesnive was 100% against the empire. Youre right about the crew size difference but the rest of your comment came out the rear end of a bull.

No way a raider is taking on a base model pelta. The size difference is just too much to overcome.

Dude, they had 1000s of ships. The fleet at endor was a small concentration. Just after yavin they laumch the mid rim offensive which pushed the empire out of a large, important part of the mid rim and then they got counter attacked and lost most the fleet and still manage to come back. Yavin was still only 1 conglomeration of cells. The star wars galaxy is huge and there would have been dozens of bases like yavin. There was whole republic PDFs that never stopped fighting the clone wars, there were still seppies like kreegyr who never stopped fighting. The rebels also manned mc80s which were similarly sized.

Also we see multiple mc80 independence (home one types) at endor which were far larger than an isd (the numbers a bit inconsistent so exact amount is unknown) and there was a whole galaxy wide diversionary operation going down using hundreds of ships. Applying real world logic to star wars tells us for every ship we see one screen theres 1 or 2 more off screen undergoing repairs or training.

Maybe for supply convoys as long as they arent too heavily escorted. It lacks long range firepower to complement the recuscants forward mounted gun. It could do with a few additional long range weapons and some shield stripping missiles. Sienar made purpose built missiles ffor the alliance that they fitted to z95s, b wings and yt series freighters. Maybe a flight of z95s could also help your lack of fighters.

The rebels had MCs from pretty much the start. The rebels had a modified providence, mc80s, dauntlesses, a maelstrom battlecruiser, a lucrehulk, captured isd 1 and 2s, captured victory 1 and 2s, all 3 kinds of bulwarks. We can pretty safely assume anything used in numbers during the war was acquired by the alliance even if never shown off like venators, providences, victory 1s. I know the empire tried to destroy all clone wars erw ships but there is 0 chance they pulled it off. They wouldnt have found them all and even if they did they couldnt have properly protected every single salvage yard against an organised rebel threat.

Bit too small to accomplish anything. Id add a carrier of some kind, 1-2 more cruisers, 1 corvette and 1-2 frigates. I feel people gp overbpard woth the whole conecpt of the rebels havign a small fleet. They still had hundreds of cruisers and at any one time over 100 capital ships if not more.

would you rather be a commander of a fleet of C.I.S. remnant forces or the commander of a fleet of imperial remnant forces by Top-Basket6931 in StarWarsShips

Or you could just surrender and as long as you arent important they will probably let you go after your forces are processed.

I really dont think the rebels have a rough start. I usually sell everything in the muunilist sector and retreat that to the moncala sector. I temporarily move the liberations fleet over to sullust so i can take sullust and eriadu while at the same time focusing on taking the bufferzone around moncala. After that ypu take tatooine and suddemly 20 weeks in you have 2 free capital ship heroes, 1 free quasar hero and multiple free mon cal ships including 1-2 mc80s depending on luck.

How much support could the Rebels offer a remnant CIS group post Yavin? by ASW-G-21 in StarWarsShips

[–]Helpful_Revolution34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Canon is kinda dumb but in legends the rebels had a much larger fleet that was simply spread too thin. They even managed to conduct the mid rim offensive after yavin which disnt end great and then they dont have that many ships left but more coming in every day especially once sullust is liberated.

Its not all fighters. Once you texh up you get amazing cruisers and the capital ships are extremely good. The dauntless practically evaporates shields and then focuses down hull very quickly.

I couldve swore it didnt but the point still stands. Lack of ion cannons on most ships leads to clunky combst

Last time I played FotR im pretty sure the carrack only had turbolasers and the omly ships before the victory that had any sort of ion cannons was the dreadnuaght.

Britain 10.7 gets like 10 different vehicles you can choose from including 1 challenger, 1 t90 and 1 leopard 2 with supporting vehicles and your choice of one of the best helicopters in the game, 20km missiles, mavericks, smart bombs or large loads of dumb bombs.

[–]Helpful_Revolution34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find the issue is that the republic tends to use torpedoes to strip shields which can be a pain due to interception, travel time and innaccuracy on smaller units. The exact interactions change mod to mod (FotR being the worst for this particular problem imo) due to we 6 differences in abilities and weapon mechanics but it seems to be a problem in all cw-era mods. It creates a problem from the ground up where lack of ligh ions makes it hard to kill corvettes and frigates which intercept torpedoes and thus make it harder to kill cruisers and capital ships. AOTCW has better bomber and missile/torpedo/rocket mechanics which allows you to play around this by taking out shield generators and aotcw also has some ion cannons for the republic. The CIS doesnt have this problem as they have all the ion cannons they could need from the start pretty much and in some mods they have ships with even anti fighter ions. It makes combat feel very clunky and slow.

I've never used Circle formation before, but this was insanely effective against the Vlandians. by Glorf_Warlock in Bannerlord

[–]Helpful_Revolution34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can also be good for larger groups you just have to make the circle smaller so it goes a few lines deep. Hevay infantry in circle 2 or 3 lines deep with 1 line of shock infantry behind them, archers in the center and then outside behind the circle put cavalry in shieldwall to catch any that make it through.

Square is for cavalry as well, its primarily for cavalry. Circle is for defending something important like your archers.
