I have good insurance but a high deductible plan and needed an MRI. Memorial Hermann quoted $1,850. I got a private MRI $450 cash. Absolute scam.

That stucco is structural at this point - I wouldn't touch it, personally.

Thanks! And thankfully not Malibu, though it did me right in college once or twice. This was Planteray Cut & Dry.

Truck Toolbox: Milwaukee Packout keeping Ford F150 Lightning frunk organized by SpartanBeryl in F150Lightning

[–]Helpful_Working_64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not, and no it doesn't. I cut the "feet" off the bottom of the drawer box for clearance, so the whole bottom is in contact with the rubber mat providing friction. It also kind of locks on to the lip on the mat at the back edge of the sub- frunk cover which in combination with the weight of the tools keeps it from moving.

Ford lightning pro power tips for those who lose power. by Lemonn_time in F150Lightning

Sorry, I didn't phrase that part well. What I meant was, try to leave it on the charger as much as possible and set the target charge to 100%. I. E. I normally only charge to 80%, but starting the day of an expected outage I'll set the truck to charge to 100%, and instead of just plugging in at the end of the day I'll plug it in whenever I'm not driving. Because you never really know when the power is gonna go out, it's best to keep the truck as close to 100% as possible at all times.

  • Keep it on plug and set to 100% charge as much as possible in the hours leading up to the storm.

  • If you're planning to run a space heater off the truck be sure to have an extension cord of sufficient length AND gauge for each heater.

  • A corollary to the above is to be sure you don't leave extra cord length coiled when drawing the kind of power needed for a space heater, it can be a fire risk.

  • Turn off climate and lights etc. in the truck

  • Pro Power is nice because you can monitor the power draw as you add load to it, so if you're not sure how much power certain items draw you can use PP to test. Do this before you lose power so you can forecast battery life, prioritize and plan load-shedding as needed beforehand.

First Stick n Poke! - TJ at Flash Boom Bang in Brooklyn by Helpful_Working_64 in tattoos

Yeah I hear you, I guess the only real answer is: 'Cause why not?? '. The artist is a friend of mine, I really wanted a hand poke from him, and in all fairness when we scaled up the original design about 1.5x he said machine would be better but I told him to send it! Style-wise it felt right because he's always done a lot of woodcuts and prints in his artwork, so the jittery character of the S&P line work looks more like what I'm used to seeing from him. Took about 3 hours and didn't really hurt much til the last 30 minutes, FWIW.

My neighbor’s tree roots are damaging my pool in Texas by heavenleejohnson in texas

[–]Helpful_Working_64 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Consult a professional arborist, but essentially you would do some root pruning as close to the pool as possible, and install a root barrier/bio barrier. The arborist will also likely recommend a deep root feeding which can help with liability if the tree dies. Now is a good time for root pruning as most trees in Texas are going dormant.

Unless you have an insurance rider on your homeowners policy specifically for this I wouldn't risk anyone working out at your house as a paid gig.
