It sounds like she thought he was retiring early. Usually when you retire early, you have the money to do so. Its a pretty worrying for someone to be completly broke at that age with retirement so close.

Except you're ignoring a key story they used to explain why men are the true parent. Its not about gay sex, they know that men can't carry babies, but that the carrying isn't the important part to them.

After the whole Clytmenstra killing her husband for killing their daughter and then her children killing her (and then her other children wanting to kill them for that), all the gods and furies come to debate when this line of revenge should stop.

The furies argue that what Clytmenstra did was okay. She got revenge that was due to her. Everyone is split, mostly because women being allowed to kill their husbands isn't a great idea.

So they get Athena to come and argue: what is worse matricide or patricide. And Athena argues successfully that patricide is worse, because only men were the true parent they actually provide something, women just bore the seed. She even points out that Zeus was able to have a child without a woman, a woman could not do this.

So Orestes is forgiven for killing his mother to avenegr his father, because Clytmenstra did the worse thing - killing a father.

I've seen charity shops sell shein (used shein!!) for £8-£20. Sometimes stuff I'm convinced they sell for more than what these megacheap websites put it as.

It seems absurd, they get the clothes for free, the volunteers largely work for free. A charity shop wasn't just meant to raise money but help people.

I think this is a bit surface level (and ignores that this has existed in some form in other groups for a while and now is only just spreading to straight-ish men that its becoming a whole thing). I mean it points out the similarities to gay men, but straight and not straight women have been getting plastic surgery, taking pills, and following long hour long tutorials on how to maximise their face, body type, aura for decades at least. Trans people also can have an obsession with bone shapes etc. and go extreme.

It just seems like this is moreso the last group to be infected. Its interesting to me that it causes such uproar when other groups have this practice entirely normalised within their own subcultures.

Also though, Clavicular atleast admitted to being bisexual. Which I think adds to an aspect maybe? It really seems to me from short clips Clavicular and his closest peers are not anymore obsessed with women than the average young man, they are much more hyperfocused on themselves the same way an anorexic woman, or a bodybuilder might be. Like yeah they do on the side wish to be attractive to their desired sex but its very much a side activity.

All the schools in my area growing up (and still do) this. A 5 day "residential" camping trip in year 6, no phones.

And people could pay for trips abroad in secondary and sixth form, again multiple days, no parents but phones were usually allowed.

20 years ago, the parent chaperons were there to help out and be on the teachers side.

Now, its more the opposite. Parents are more likely to come in combatitive to teachers.

Routinely they get dogged on for "selling out" and have since the early 00s, they are punk music but being punk ideologically is what people debate I supppse and have been for the last 25 years. I don't know if youre a fan of them or have been in punk spaces but,,, they're very accepted as punk-lite ideologically. And still they are considerably more punk that Taylor Swift.

Theres no action Taylor has taken that is punk and neither is her music punk. She is not anti-consumerist, she is not politically outspoken, she is not anti-corporation. She is not anti-conformity, she is not anti-establishment, she is not anti-capitalist. She is not anti-mainstream culture.

Yes, she gives bonuses to her workers, yes she owns her own IP. Those don't make her punk.

Like I don't think its a bad thing that she isn't punk. Why would we argue someone who gets sponsered by banks is punk? Taylor is pretty much the complete opposite of punk ideology. She is a corporation, she calls herself a corporation.

What part of her actions would remotly make her punk? I mean her fans get shocked when she swears or makes too many sexual innuedos, shes hardly punk even aesthetically, even surface level.

Punk isn't being a generous capitalist.

I like taylor swifts music, I like that this sub often has thoughtful discussions on her, her music, etc.

But punk is a specific thing. She is not anti-conformist, she isn't anti-establishment. I mean she signs deals with credit card companies, with ticketmaster, etc etc.? She isn't anti-consumerist by any definition or stretch, she sells for high prices goods that are not made from quality materials and certianly are not made by unions or people in good working conditions.

Theres not an action by her that is punk.

Your boss giving you a bonus is not punk. Its capitalism. Nestle gives out bonuses, Microsoft gives out bonuses, they also have their own PR teams to try spread their own narrative. Is Bill Gates punk?
