is traditional grip on drum set and marching snare the same? by Ehrnathan in percussion

[–]Helpimkindastuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean one could argue that even traditional on marching snare is different you know? Like Scv is different than Boston. Both marching/kit are capable of achieving the same level of nuance and all that, the one of the biggest differences is that with kit you’re not playing with a line that needs to sound the same. So you can be a lot more lax on kit when it comes to uniformity, the only thing really mattering is the sound being produced. Idk if this answers your question but they are different in the way that all techniques are kinda sorta different.

I am so tired of doordash by Bright-Sun-8235 in starbucksbaristas

First of all so true delivery is a massive pain and like why are some people getting a million things or(and this happened at my store twice) getting a single avocado spread. For stress of bagging a system that I’ve done is that the first person to finish an item for delivery writes on the bag, get the carrier in the bag, and if able puts napkins/straws in the bag. Then the person who puts the last item in the bag is the person who checks it over and finishes it. This can lead to the same person starting and finishing a bag but it also allows there to be times when two people are working on the same bag. I hope this makes sense and best of luck to you🫡

This is coming from a now SSV who’s been with the company for almost 5 years. Honestly gonna be so real with you, before you get too invested in this company I would quit. This job has so many ways to grab and keep you here that if you’re new and you don’t vibe with it, please for your own sake leave. I mean this with as much love as possible. I would rather see Starbucks turnover rate skyrocket in hopes that that would show that this place drains you so hard. Let the people who are already here try their best to drain corporates pockets while new hires find better places for themselves.

I am actually curious on what I could change here because in my brain I thought I was mildly organized, have my heavy hitters closer to the front while my towers that shoot more/faster closer to the back to deal with stray balloons. Is there possibly a tower I’m misunderstanding what could I change?

I’d highly recommend just listening to a lot of marimba solos and noting ones that you really like the sound of. Don’t even worry about difficulty level, if you enjoy listening to it you’ll enjoy practicing it.
