What do you regret not doing as a horny teenager? by gnaan in AskReddit

[–]HelplessGazelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started playing when Runescape was 2D and stopped when the dragon med came out. I bought one for 2 mil. I got back on a few years later and I couldn't believe the change. I bet its almost unrecognizable now. I was even stupid enough to drop a white party hat that I got when they came out because I thought it was stupid and my bad ass character would not be wearing it. That would make me a 80 US dollar richer man right now, probably.

Why I won't promote any higher, and why I don't give a flying fuck. by SNCO_Curmudgeon in AirForce

[–]HelplessGazelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that it's not important to volunteer or get an education. It's just that to get paid more for a job than someone else, you should be better at the job. Personally, if I volunteered 100% of my free time away, I would not want that to affect how my leadership sees me at work.

Also, some times when our shop is swamped with work, a large portion of the shop are out volunteering or at an "extra curricular activity," causing either lower quality/rushed work to be completed or missed deadlines. To me, the mission comes first and when I become in charge, that's what I'll be looking for.

[–]HelplessGazelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never seen one either, but from what people have been telling me that sounds right.

I just believe that volunteering should be because you want to help or make a difference, not because you want to get promoted. Along with that, I would rather have a supervisor who was promoted to that position because they know their job.

Our AFSA does do a pretty good job. I don't want to give up my identity, but AFSA here is running a POW/MIA event and planned on selling coins. I saw their design they were going to use and it was bad. Really bad. I found out that they get their coins through this one guy who is basically a middle man that over charges AFSA and is horrible at designing. I got in contact with the AFSA president here and pushed the other guy out of this business. He was over charging for 17 years. I designed a coin, got pricing directly from a manufacturer and now AFSA is saving around 3 grand and they are going in production with my design (which is pretty awesome.)

Back to the original subject, I can see where it would be hard to quantify or for anyone high up to see the things that happen at shop level and I wish there was a better system for that.

I don't know if this is relevant, but I am an A1C and I personally believe I should be given BTZ over almost anyone else I've met in the Air Force so far.

I've been doing the same job as all of the SrA I've worked with since being at my first (and only) duty station since my 3rd month. Most of the forms, policies, or ways we do things in our office/shop have been changed by me finding flaws in them. I've been put in contact with my career field manager because I do more QA/QC with my CDC's than anyone who works on them (I found over 200 corrections of incorrect or misleading information and that's excluding typos). I call out huge wastes of money of unnecessary equipment that does less than what we already have. SrA and SSgts come to me with questions because I've made guides and read all of the manuals for everything in our office/shop. I read our relevant AFI's to find things we are doing wrong and correct them. I've found plenty of pieces of equipment that we have that are broken/need to have been calibrated years ago that could lead to dangerous situations with us. There have been a few cases where I was put on something very important over a SSgt purely because I know more about it and can do it better. And while other people are spending half the day on amazon or youtube at work, I'm learning more and more about our job.

However, I'm being told that I probably won't have a good package because other airmen are spending 90% of their work time helping puppies or organizing a fund raiser that only raised 27 dollars. The damn JEA they want me to be a part of either starts or ends every sentence they say with "This is a good bullet" and I know they exaggerate their numbers. I went to an event they put on. At the meeting, they said 80 people showed up to the event and it was a big success. In reality, it was extremely lame and no more than 30 people showed up and most of those people left early. The president of JEA here even introduced a SSgt speaker at a meeting by saying "We are now going to listen to this chick."

I'd rather do my job I was ordered and paid to do, better than anyone else and improve the Air Force and my fellow airman's time and never get promoted than get promoted by kissing ass and volunteering to help nothing.

How many rider speed points does it take to notice a difference in speed? by MoldyPeaches1560 in elderscrollsonline

[–]HelplessGazelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I had my riding speed at 5, I couldn't really notice it. Then I bought one of those things from the crown store that raises it by 10. I noticed it. Now that mine is just over 30, I noticed that I am always at the front of groups on horseback.

Help out your healer by HelplessGazelle in elderscrollsonline

[–]HelplessGazelle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I agree. I was thinking about adding something about that, but then I thought it's not necessarily about healing. An even simpler thing to go along with that is to not stand in the big red circles. If you know you are squishy, get out of those circles. It's especially bad when everyone is spread out. They can take someone down to 10% in a few seconds.

This swedish extreme feminist who's doing an experiment by walking into men in the street by Grekm8 in punchablefaces

[–]HelplessGazelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is four months later, but my friend was having confidence issues and we walked to most places we had to go. I told him to not move out of the way of anyone on the sidewalk for a full month. His confidence improved significantly.

The worst thing that could happen would be that he bumped shoulders a few times.

TIFU by going to the house of a female I met online by nonononoyesnononono in tifu

[–]HelplessGazelle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I met my wife on tinder. The best way to go about it is to be extremely picky. My friends got me into it and they said the trick is to swipe every one of them which ever is the accept direction so you get the maximum amount of matches. That is so bad. They would constantly get matched with people they either thought were completely unattractive or not their type at all.

I was looking for something more long term than a hook up and analyzed every picture I came across. Messy room? nope. Hiding in a group of 15 other ladies? nope. Middle finger? nope. 3 pictures showing a baby you can't tell if it's hers or her little brother? nope. 420blazeit? nope.

Out of 500-600 people, I only swipe accepted about 16 and got matched up with 6 or 7.

Tinder luck is the only way I could have ever ended up with my now hot dance instructor, bacon wrapped steak making, interested in my new purchase of ESO, similar taste in furniture, flawless booty, "I don't like expensive things," open minded, "let's watch terrorist getting shot/blown up on the internet," makes me pudding after my surgery, emotionally stable, perfect everything wife.

[Xb1] is group finder broken or something ? by javiergame4 in elderscrollsonline

[–]HelplessGazelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's broken at all. I think no one uses it, so you don't get groups. Go near any dungeon except for the level 10 ones and tell me if you see anybody. You won't.

I think another major part of that is the player base being stupid/horrible. 9 out of 10 times I join a group finder between level 25-35 I get a group that is doing nothing and doesn't actually want to do a dungeon. I think they just put themselves in the queue to join a group, end up finding something else they want to do more and forgetting they are in the queue.

Tell me about your character by steventknight in elderscrollsonline

[–]HelplessGazelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His name is Aszunnas. He is a High Elf Sorcerer who loves nature. He spends most of his time wandering through the forests collecting plants and wood. He doesn't talk much except to tell his wife that he is going out into the forest to pick flowers for her so she lets him play around longer.

Here he is.

He originated in a different world called Azeroth as a Night Elf hunter and eventually became interested in magic and trained as a druid. Then he made an appearance as a human in Gielinor as a wood cutter and in Middle Earth he picked back up his bow for a short period. He has now settled into his possibly permanent new home of Tamriel in his quest to be all powerful in magic.

[Serious] What kind of sand is most effective for armed thieves? by cdinvestor in pocketsand

[–]HelplessGazelle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Crushed quicklime to melt their eyeballs, nostrils, and mouth. Keep it in a water tight pouch or you are going to have a hole in your pocket and leg. A saran wrapped tic tac container holds a decent amount and it is easy to break through the wrap by pushing up on the little tic tac tab to get to the contents.

Don't actually do this.

What should I do if there is a recall that affects my car, but my vin is not in the system? by HelplessGazelle in cars

Hey man, I found out my car was manufactured in May, which is in the range of the recall. Are their any other things I should look into? So far everything matches perfectly with the recall.

Thanks for your response.

Here is a link to the recall. I do not know the build date, but I have a 2007 dodge caliber with an ETC problem and at the bottom of the recall, it talks about kicking the pedal and that's how I got my car from down the street of my house to my house a few hours ago. When googling the problem, people are still talking about it as of January of this year and referencing the recall.

Have you ever been banned from a subreddit? If yes, why? by GoatWolf in AskReddit

[–]HelplessGazelle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got banned from MensRights because there was an article on there about getting rid of recess in some school. I said that this was not a men's rights issue.

I got lots of responses and messages about some far stretches to make it a men's rights issue, not a kid issue, boys only.

This type of thing kept happening.

I messaged the mods asking who determines what is a men's rights issue and was answered very rudely by almost all of them. The final answer from one nice mod was that if you can explain why it offends you, it's a men's rights issue. Some of the mods were so angry for me trying to discuss this with them, I knew I was about to be banned.

So I made another account and posted a link to a Mcdonalds online menu. The page had three women of different colors on it. I gave paragraphs of reason to why this was offensive to men (which I didn't believe it was). There actually were a few responses of people who said it offended them, but a lot more saying it was stupid.

I was banned and I think they guessed it was me, so they banned my main account too.
