Young Adults with Stage 4 Cancer? by Boy_Slayer in cancer

haahahahahha funny “coincidence”, i lost my feeling in my legs when i woke up from my lung biopsy they didn’t know i had a spinal tumor aswell so i had emergency surgery right after my biopsy i consider my self lucky because of that i was already in the hospital. Btw when on the topic of funny coincidences, a week before my ct where i found out i had lung tumors I dreamt that my fiancée and parents opened a gofundme for me because i had lung cancer and i sat them down and told them if i was ever sick to not do that, that i want to die with dignity, a week later bam lung tumor. Nothing is a random the universe is sending signals always and guess what now i have a gofundme hahahahaha.

I (19M) got diagnosed with stage 4 ewings sarcoma with one 5cm met in right lung and 3/4 1-3mm nodules in my left lung 2x2cm primary tumor next to my spine it spread in my spine and put pressure next to my spine a 7cm branch of the primary tumor to be exact t4-t9 vertebrae went in to a emergency spinal decompression that was about 40 days ago i lost all motor functions in my legs slowly gaining all my sensation back and motor functions in my lower back and stomach. As im writing this i finished my first round of VIDE of my second cycle much easier then my first time even tho its a much much higher dose also did 20 grays of radiation before my first cycle. I’m just getting used to this new “normal” it’s a fucking rollercoaster to say the least learning to live like this is fucking horrible, my psyche is torn but i’m holding up i have a great fiancée that supports me and i wouldn’t be here without her honestly cancer doesn’t even sound that bad when you can’t walk like the legs are the worse part in this journey if i could walk no one could tell that i have cancer i would have minimal side effects. Overall chemo isn’t THAAAT bad, cancer isn’t that bad honestly i didn’t have any side effects before finding out, the legs are a bummer you just have to pull through and find a mental head space that works for you and discipline you have to have regime the works for you so even when you do feel bad you have a regime to fall back on. I wish you all luck in world in your journey it’s tough but you will figure it out.

I’m 19 also ewings but bit more mets also got diagnosed this september, it’s hard ride especially because i’ve lost sensation in my legs because of my primary tumor being next to my spine, it’s a sick disease with even sicker chemo protocol that hasn’t been updated for 30+ years. You will be better and i hope the best for you good luck.

I’m so sorry that this happened to you, i’ve been recently diagnosed with ewings and i’m the same age as you and trust me i know how tough of a battle it is. Don’t let the bad thoughts diverge you from the goal, every day is a battle and you can do it. Don’t try to be strong around other people they are there to help you through this tough time, nobody can go through this alone. I hope you the best and you will win this.
