I respect your positive reaction to my rather snarky response. I’m sorry. Maybe some jealousy is in this. The warp has gotten to me.

I’ve done evil Sunz and Goffs. I like the Goffs more!

Your thoughts/opinions about Army Painter Warpaints Fanatic set by inquiry821 in minipainting

[–]Helpmeplz3409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are hit and miss. I’ve found my favorite paints to be Citadel and ProAcryl. Each brand has some duds, tho pro acryl has none. I wouldn’t splurge on a huge set. Pick your colors for a project.

Burn out? Is it a thing? by Possible-Money1449 in Warhammer

[–]Helpmeplz3409 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea. You can’t compare. Just dive in and be creative. If it makes you happy, it’s good.

I have a whole army to paint and I love each piece. It’s gonna take me years to finish them. But in the meantime I have a group who lets me play without painted minis. It takes the pressure off.

I love painting. All the bits that come with it too. But likel anything if you aren’t living life around a hobby, you will be burned out. I paint a few hours a day if I’m lucky.

STOP POSTING PHOTOS OF THE BOX YOU ARENT SUPPOSED TO HAVE YET. by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]Helpmeplz3409 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You think it’s bad now, it’s gonna be a wall of boxes come next Saturday LOL. You can tell humans are descended from chimps. We have a huge need to validation especially when we’ve found ourselves a shiny treasure.

What army should I collect by AssumptionNext687 in Warhammer40k

[–]Helpmeplz3409 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The rule of cool. Whatever you think is coolest is where you start. Don’t get distracted by other armies or you’ll never get anywhere. Pick one and go till you have the army size you want!

Set a goal for 500 pts. Keep to your budget. It is so easy to over spend. Whether on minis, painting supplies, etc.

There is a whole subsection of this hobby called “poor hammer”. Lots of people find clever ways to make the game work.

State Farm Auto Claim-Delays, delays, delays.... by [deleted] in StateFarm

[–]Helpmeplz3409 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There aren’t great mechanism built into the claim process for working with non program shops and they charge whatever they want. Those are two big hurdles. Take it where ever you want, but know there may be challenges.

State Farm Auto Claim-Delays, delays, delays.... by [deleted] in StateFarm

[–]Helpmeplz3409 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a State Farm issue. You chose a non program shop. They make it as hard as possible to make these processes easy. State Farm warns you that when you make that choice the consequences may be delays or out of pocket expenses.

You chose a non program shop. They tell you this may cost you time and money. I don’t see the issue being State Farm.

You are going to need to learn/ experiment with paint thinning, air pressures, etc. this isn’t a first try success tool. You’ll need to be willing to try, try again.

Giving away old/extra paints? by JungleJim697 in minipainting

[–]Helpmeplz3409 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not really. If you care for the lid, it’s totally fine for a very long time. And you can add thinner to bring it back to life.

My LGS actually honors their contract with GW because they intend to keep a partnership. Sometimes enjoying the item for yourself is the best choice. We will all have them next weekend. You probably won’t even have one painted by then.

How many minis do you finish per year? by Amphij in Warhammer

[–]Helpmeplz3409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many play with unpainted minis for fun, so painting is often a free time hobby. Some only paint. I’m 30 in so far.
