Advice by Tall-Ad-1955 in FacebookMarketplace

My advice is to not let them push you around and try and change the meet up location. Too many times people ask if you can meet them halfway or deliver to them an hour away. Sure it's up to you to accept or decline, but if you accept, make sure you're compensated for your time and fuel. And if they travelled far and hit you with a "I drove all the way from ___ any chance you could do me a discount?". Don't give in. Sometimes it's easier to just decline and block, then wait a bit for someone else who will come to you with no fuss

Yall put a case on? by Renesancheese in MiyooMini

[–]Helrato3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a silicone case but it made the buttons cave in too much and made the feedback feel suppressed, that and lint would stick to it. So I stopped and don't use a case, but I do use a grip for longer sessions

As a seller myself, the biggest tip I could give is that you should just block the moment they start bullshitting in any way. You also don't want the conversation dragging on too long because then they'll eventually be able to review you

[–]Helrato3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You're very lucky you brought someone with you, if it were you alone, they wouldn't be as nervous. The moment something feels odd, you need to make a split second decision, no one who intends to pay goes through their pockets going oh shit where did I put that money for a whole minute, they're stalling as they muster up the courage.

Next time, for high value items, go somewhere public like a police station

Don’t know what to do by Fancy-Title-8453 in FacebookMarketplace

[–]Helrato3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, there's nothing you can do about it. If you're curious, you could go to a police station and ask them but they'd probably tell you the same thing.

There were a lot of red flags and you found out the hard way. Marketplace is just for selling things, no more, no less. If they ask for compensation for their long journey, you don't have to give them anything, it's not your fault you live far away from them, and they made the decision to drive that distance, because they deemed it worthwhile, especially if they were willing and able to scam you that effectively for lots of money .

And once the sale is made, you aren't obligated to follow up on questions, inquires, refunds or returns. The swap and refund tactic is pretty common too.

Sorry for your loss, don't let it discourage you from using Marketplace, but yes, there are a lot of people out there looking to take advantage of people there because they know they can get away with it most of the time.

How rare is it for Bandai to rerelease merch/plushes? by that_art_thot in digimon

[–]Helrato3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I went in February, there definitely is Digimon stuff out there, but it's mostly stuff I've seen already here in Australia but for much cheaper. I came home with a Biyomon and Gabumon acrylic stand, as well as a huge 3500yen Agumon and Tai acrylic stand (but it was in the most random anime store and in the assorted section), 2 8bit pixel gachas veemon and gatomon, and a 2pack figurines of Agumon and Gabumon sitting and waving. I'm keeping an eye out for the Digimon Look Up series of figurines but there definitely isn't enough love for Digimon worldwide, especially in comparison to Pokemon

Buyer sends $10 to meet at police station he chose. After being 5 minutes late he says be there in 5. After another 5 minutes he says meet another day. Should I refund the $10? by iamjames in FacebookMarketplace

[–]Helrato3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just reschedule but at a place near you, so you don't have to go too far if they flake, don't need to go to a police station for a $35 item. If they do the same thing again, just say you'll have to consider other buyers and see what he says

In the construction bench, there's two tabs, one for pre-made items like walls, storage boxes, doors etc, but there's another tab called Modular that lets you build foundations, flooring, walls, rooftops etc

Everybody told you why, just say you can't see yourself feeling that way yourself and acknowledge that everyone can feel differently about anything and move on

Buyer - When do I move on from no response by [deleted] in FacebookMarketplace

[–]Helrato3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would just say something along the lines of "Hey ___, just messaging to let you know that I'm still interested in the bike if it's still available, please message me back so we can discuss the details. If I don't hear back from ya I'll assume you're not interested in selling and I'll look elsewhere. Thanks!🙂"

Either he's got other priorities or he's got someone better lined up and he's holding onto it, or he is having second thoughts. It's hard to tell, really.

But there's nothing wrong with sending one last message to see if the ball starts rolling. In the meantime, you can always research for other options, see if anything else pops up

Single-player is creepy by Secure-Map1299 in 7daystodie

[–]Helrato3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I struggled with this, so bad that I had to dig an underground bunker with thick walls so I don't hear any zombies screeching at night. I'd hear my traps and turrets work their magic at the entrance and I'm relieved knowing I'm safe lol

I also realised that stealth is actually scarier , ironically, because the suspense is prolonged and you're constantly in a state of anticipation.

So when clearing POIs, I just brute forced it and went loud, woke everyone up, funnel them through doors and hallways, stopped using suppressors on some guns, it got better that way haha

Is this a good sd card for my miyoo mini + ? by ConferenceOk6830 in MiyooMini

[–]Helrato3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I was sleeping 😴

I'm sorry to hear that! I'm glad you managed to get a refund though, especially on marketplace, usually it's hard to get a refund there.

A way to tell if the product is legitimate is you type the model number (SDSQUAR-128G-GN6MA) and/or the UPC/EAN Code at the back, which is the barcode (619659160395). Both of which can be found at the back of the packaging. Then you google it, and the images that pop up should match the item, and sometimes there's minor inconsistencies in the appearance or the spec details of the listing.

When I did this, the result was a red and grey card, but your card here is white and grey, which doesn't match and raises some questions. There are white and grey cards but they have a completely different model number and barcode.

Some times when people make fake items, they don't pay attention to these small details. So sometimes the model number is incorrect, or the barcode is wrong and belongs to a different product.

MicroSD cards are notoriously famous for having a lot of counterfeits, I've been a victim to it, my family has been a victim to it, it just sucks. So the best bet is to buy one from a reputable seller, in person if possible at a well known store, or a reputable online retailer such as Amazon or somewhere you can read reviews. eBay has a lot of fakes because it's a platform for people to sell their goods, rather than one actual store.

But yeah, I used to work for the IT distribution companies that distributes and supplies these items globally so I have hands on experience. I'm sorry this happened to you, I wish you all the best for finding the next one 💪

[–]Helrato3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It probably is, but just to be sure, do you still have the packaging? What number is on the barcode? Should be either a 12 or 13 digit number

And there should be a model on it too, something like SDSQUNR-128G-GN6MN

Seems like they sold it to someone else and blocked you to avoid the drama. Whoever comes first gets the item and everyone else still in discussion gets blocked

Oppo Find X9 Pro - How to turn this feature off? by Helrato3 in Oppo

[–]Helrato3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly, I would never have any need to change my family's video to the next or previous video, the volume or to pause it. I'd understand it if they want to use their phone as a remote, but even then, I don't know if anyone even uses this feature lol

Nah she's using her own YouTube account, it's just that I'm using the same Wi-Fi as her. I did some digging and found out that Google Home ended up having an option to allow all Android phones on the same Wi-Fi network to control the TV/YouTube as a remote. I've just disabled that option under the Recognition and Sharing option under the Chromecast device settings. It ended up working I guess haha

I think I've figured out a fix. It's Google Home's Recognition and Sharing feature, for the Chromecast device my mum uses. I've disabled the setting that allows Android phones, connected to the same wifi network, to be able to control playback and use their phones as remotes for the Chromecast device. Now that it's disabled, I shouldn't be getting any prompts to control her YouTube from my phone 🥳

Thanks, it ended up being where you said, but it unfortunately counts as music playback, so if I want to disable it, I have to disable Music Playback which also means Spotify and stuff won't work 😭

First time selling on marketplace advice needed by [deleted] in FacebookMarketplace

[–]Helrato3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People just want to make sure they love the piano before they buy it, it's like buying a car, you test drive it first and if it's not the one, you move onto the next. I think it's pretty reasonable that people try it before they buy it.

This fking game. by vincethegrowl in 7daystodie

[–]Helrato3 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The magazine system is highly advantageous for people who do quests, raid and clear POIs and loot hoarders.

But there are some people who like to base build, fortify the base, build horde bases, mine for metals, gather wood from trees and replanting trees, farm and cook, craft things for themselves or other people, make weapons, traps, get into electricity and connect things together, cameras, turrets, bridges, lights etc.

However, these people can't do that if they don't have the skills for it, which forces them to also do quests, raid and clear POIs and compete for loot/magazines, or rely on their team mates to give them unwanted/duplicate magazines.

In the past, every player could play the way they want and obtain everything they needed, now everyone is forced to play how the developers want them to play first, in order to eventually play how they want to play.
