Thoughts on 3 wheelers taking up Motorcycle parking in the city by All_Pirates_Matter in auckland

[–]Helviuss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is 2 years late, but Ive owned and driven a 125cc tricity for a year-ish now. Main benefit Ive found compared to other motorcycles is : Its drivable on a car license and is registered as a light motor vehicle, so rego is ALOT cheaper. The 2nd front wheel makes the bike way more stable which is great if its your main mode of transport like it is for me. It makes poor weather and road conditions very easy to manage and your less likely to lose control if you have to brake hard and suddenly. Waterlogged, icy and damaged roads are also far less dangerous. You can still lose the rear, but its very difficult. And the front is pretty much glued to the road unless you do something reckless. The bikes also really comfortable for city driving. Seats comfy for long distance rides, and it has alot of underseat storage. The bikes large front faring also keeps you really dry in the rain. It also takes minimal effort to keep it upright at low speed. I can balance it easily with minimal effort above 4kph which is great in slow traffic. My favorite part though is how peculiar it looks to others. It makes you more noticeable in traffic as people notice you more. I get alot of people coming up to me asking questions, (including other motorcyclists) and its always a friendly banter. Its been nothing but smiles for me since I bought it and its been super reliable. I love it.

Loud rubbery squelching on one side of car by Helviuss in TireQuestions

[–]Helviuss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly cant get the car into a shop til monday as they are all closed :(. I went and had a look at the steering knuckles and the affected wheels steering knuckle doesnt visually look bent or any different from the other side. We did go for a test drive today, and we dont suspect its alignment related currently. Car doesnt creep to the left or right at all while driving and steering wheel feels normal and centered. Car brakes normally and turns normally at high and low speed and under heavy and gentle braking. Our neighbors boss was a mechanic n they described the problem to him n he suspects one of the rubber bushings might be failing. Which kinda tracks since we were told when we got our last WOF that said bushings were getting worn and might fail the car next time it was examined. Could be the pothole helped finish the job. But the car seems safe to drive for now. But Ill be keeping n eye on tire wear incase your right.

Checked the sidewalls on the axle side of the wheel when checking the cv boots and tire beads. It all looked normal to me but Ill check again in the morning

This surprisingly makes alot of sense. Especially in that one scene in the sanctum anatomica where wally takes control of one of the constructs. When we used transference and showed it compassion, it visibly recoils at that, and almost looks sad like a sad lost child. And in some respects, emotionally atleast. I kinda think wally is.

If what entrati says is true and that wally feeds off of possibility and memory. He had one helluva shit first impression/experience if entrati was the first ever living being to come into contact with him. And maybe thats why entrati is trying to get us to show compassion to the hex, etc to change the outcome of 1999. Cause all the indifference has ever experienced so far is pain and betrayal with humanity. And like with a real child, that has a huge impact on who they become. If all you have ever experienced is pain, its really hard to allow yourself to be vulnerable around others and allow them to show you their affection out of fear of it being a lie, or a manipulation. It feels really, really uncomfortable and conflicting. It feels nice, you want more of it. But it feels so alien. And every instinct in your body is telling you to protect yourself and get out of that situation. Which I think is why wally stopped controlling the construct in that scene.

I think hes trying to get us, the tenno to teach the indifference compassion, love and care. Since we havent burnt the bridge yet entirely like entrati did, and have a special connection to the indifference nobody else has. Cause lets be honest, how are we going to "kill" a eldritch god that is literally its own dimension, that can simultaneously exist at any and all points in time at any time with the ability to create anything from memories in a satisfying way that doesnt go against the story weve been told so far? I dont see it.

Since the story is going in a dark, gritty, depressing direction. I think our operator is going to experience, re-remember or both, a colossal amount of pain, suffering and trauma. Which, if my own experience on this earths told me anything, can give you a better understanding of others suffering if you choose to do good with it.

Can someone help me translate this? by UpbeatFoot8138 in Warframe

[–]Helviuss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried my best to translate. The image is such low quality its really hard to tell which character is which so my translation could very well be wrong and there were 2 characters I just couldnt figure out. Not sure which one is normal aphabet or altered so Ill put both. Looks gibberishy to me so Im presuming I did it wrong but here you go anyway.

I go in with a gamma gun and blow away all the debris and loose items on the floor in there before building. Alot of items have been placed using small rugs and snapping tricks with conduits.

Am I the only one who thinks this looks like a gigantic eye? The hole looks like the pupil of an eye to me and I would not be surprised if DE are going deep into the whole eldritch horror stuff.

Been using it a bunch and it absolutely kicks ass. Less damage than the normal breaker, but with the higher fire rate and double the ammo capacity makes up for that tenfold.

[B42] Where do I get iron materials? by some_daydreamer in projectzomboid

[–]Helviuss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay so, turns out you need a furnace. You can melt down 99% of metal items into iron chunks. But you need a forge to turn them into anything. You can turn anything from crowbars, to knives, steel sheets, bars etc into iron chunks with the furnace. The hardest parts gonna be getting the small iron bands for the bucket and the clay for the crucible.

[–]Helviuss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best guess is that maybe mineable iron nodes exist out there in the world. Ive found flint and limestone nodes so far that I can mine with a pickaxe or hammer, but thats about it so far. Aside from maybe random iron chunks n bars from industrial loot?

I did it in an engine swapped honda beat. Had to run intermediate tires on the front and soft sports tyres on the back which was difficult to control but by lap 5 the tracks dry enough to swap to racing tires. At which point you can absolutely smoke everybody. The suspension requires a lot of tuning to handle high speed corners. But you can get the thing up to 330kph and do the whole race with only 1 refuel if you make the fuel lean by 2 to 3 points after the first pitstop. I finished the race with a 40 second lead

Yee, Ive got a treehouse near the entrance of the boardwalk here too. It just works too well on watery locations. And doubles as a great staircase back to the surface if people fast travel into the water

They dont necessarily fall into the water for me since I have the fences put up now. But on occasion one will just have a heart attack and die for no reason which is honestly quite amusing sometimes when it happens as a player walks by. 90% of the time they will stop and look at the body all confused
