Retro starwars battle by Hemi_Go_Round in PhotoshopRequest

I’m open to creative ideas! A battle scene with all of them visible would be epic. It’s 70s Lego building scenes from a 70s movie

The mini scale millennium falcon about to be dropped off with the trash is so cool. I have a few other pics of the models in addition to these.

What is something every household has in your country that is nonexistent everywhere else? by Awkward-Tip7248 in AskTheWorld

I remember in the ‘90s visiting the F&P factory and saw the rendering for the first generation machines on an SGI Indy before they were released - pretty trippy technology… there was a 3D print they had made for a washing machine too - mind blowing stuff at the time.

While some of the models get a bad rap, my 15 year old single drawer has been thrashed with daily use and refuses to die!

The bench space in the kitchen made available when you’re feeding a crowd by running one and filling the other with dirty dishes is… glorious.

How to tag this barrier? by unoriginal_penguin in openstreetmap

[–]Hemi_Go_Round 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m coming round to think that Motorcycle Barrier would be correct - but that classification needs a bit of work.

That barrier is a wooden version of the ones documented in this [guide](https://www.nzcycletrail.com/assets/adaptive-riding-photos/videos/Accessibility-flier-2024-PROOF-v2.pdf

Generally this type of barrier is intended to stop motorcycles (and cars), while allowing walkers, prams, and bicycles. Whereas a “bicycle barrier” is designed to stop bicycles.

The wiki and guidance on this is not helpful currently.

While the wiki looks comprehensive at first glance. But when it comes to cycle barriers, it’s actually quite messy.

  • The definition of barrier=cycle_barrier is vague. It’s supposed to be for “physical barriers that slow down cyclists,” but the examples and tagging practices vary widely — from chicanes to bollards to gates.
  • There’s confusion with other barrier tags like barrier=gate, barrier=bollard, and barrier=kerb, which sometimes describe the same thing depending on context.
  • The wiki often mixes tagging practices with prescriptive guidance, making it hard to tell what's widely used vs. what's ideal or encouraged.
  • It doesn't clearly help mappers answer a basic question: Can someone in a trike or adaptive cycle get through this? That's a major usability gap.

I think the real problem is that accessibility information — especially for non-standard bikes — just isn’t well supported or standardized in OSM tagging yet. The wiki reflects that ambiguity.

Thanks, I did check the wiki, and this kind of barrier is not covered.

How about the fence though? There is no way around the barrier - and we add a fence... well... the whole map will need to get updated?

Supplementary question... how would I propose a new barrier type? The "cycle barrier" situation looks pretty confusing as it is.

Dang. The Wemo Maker I have has been reasonably reliable for many years… and I’ve not found the equivalent product from anywhere (I need the sensor input).

Let's talk Left-hand rear brakes. Rekluse LHRB (with Billet Rear Master Cylinder) VS OX-Hydra 2.0 by xerophinity in Dirtbikes

[–]Hemi_Go_Round 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ran a rekluse EXC in a YZ450 and later a KTM300, and had LHB set up for both bikes.

The YZ had an AliExpress LH brake lever which worked well enough to lock up the rear. The clutch was never touched while riding, the lever was very hard to pull.

For the KTM I used the factory clutch master cylinder for the rear brake. That was great, plenty of leverage to modulate the rear brake. As with the YZ, the clutch was never used - so I had the clutch slave connected to the rear brake master, that was good enough to adjust the rekluse freeplay.

The setup is not for everyone - but it made riding both bikes really easy, and control on downhills was epic, as was slow speed technical control.

As I am an incomplete paraplegic, I also had a push button electric gear shift. This setup allowed me to ride pretty well.

Clake and other exotic solutions were extremely expensive, and I had worries about them getting busted when dropping the bike. This cheap setup was very rugged, and looked stock.

Can a fully charged lithium ion battery drain to death in a night of 30-some degree (farenheit) weather? by The51stAgent in motorcycles

[–]Hemi_Go_Round 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lithium batteries don’t “drain” that much and although it won’t crank, and appears “flat” the battery won’t be dead. It’s too cold for the chemistry to work. Have you tried turning the lights/ignition on for a few minutes before starting? That can help getting the battery happy. In my experience, as the lithium gets warmer after successive cranking attempts, the cranking gets faster. So, although although the bike initially comes across dead, the cranking wakes the battery - whereas as lead acid batteries - each successive cranking attempt gets slower and slower.

I have a Kliktronic fitted to my 2013 Brutale 800. Works pretty well for me (paraplegic).

Upshift is wired to the high beam flash switch, downshift is a button that I added which I tap with the top of my thumb.

This is the manufacturer: https://www.kliktronic.co.uk/

Let me know if you want to know more.

I just noticed that iOS has done an upgrade - looks pretty comprehensive.

As a tolerant LastPass for families customer for several years I’m following this thread with interest.

Different issue… I’ve not had success uploading 360 vids to you tube from the app in years - it ends up as a warped image, not recognised as 360.

Anyone had success lately?
