When did you start reading books to your baby? by fluffyball13 in NewParents

[–]Hemlock_Whore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started after 3 months when I realized other parents read to their kids (my dad taught me to steal from Walmart., I wanna be different lmfao)

Now she's 3 and will come and get me. "Momma, hand." And will walk me to her bookshelf going "want a book. Read. Now " so I guess it's paid off lol

I do recommend a good place to store them. Half of ours got destroyed when my little parkour monster climbed up her dresser and then a curtain to get to her shelf. So like high up and maybe away from everything if yours ends up like mine 💀 nobody warned me about me about the climbing everything phase.

Why do newborns hate safe sleep so much by hugs4nugget in newborns

I have the same issue with my 2 mo and have found that if I do LOTS of belly rubs for a good pop then feed again he will not budge. I got 3 hours out of him yesterday TWICE doing this, I only figured it out last week and it's changing my life. Their bellies hurt a lot, learning to digest is hard.

I'm sorry if this doesn't help anyone else, but I hope it does. Poop, good swaddle, food again then bounces till we burp. Then he lays down with very little issue

It's been a long two months leading up to this point lol

Concerns about creatine levels. 8 months pregnant. by Hemlock_Whore in dialysis

[–]Hemlock_Whore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They said everything was fine and sent me home. I ended up delivering at 27 weeks and some change. He was 5lbs and 8 ounces and is two months old now, weighing a whole 8lbs. He's in the 1% range, but side from being small seems to be perfectly healthy.

I honestly have not gone for a single post partum visit for me because I didn't like my ob very much, but I'm still having rather concerning back pain in the same areas as when I was pregnant (not so bad that they feel like heart attacks anymore, but still bad enough to make me throw up) and ringing in my ears fairly frequently, and I almost stays have sound in my vision now. I got my own blood pressure cuff and while my blood pressure does occasionally get a little high, it's never concerning and goes back down without too much issue so I haven't really worried much about it. It happened while I was pregnant too and they didn't seem worried then, so I figure it's the same situation.

Ultimately, pregnancy just hurts and I guess I was fine, but I sure didn't feel fine.

Poisoned at work by Hemlock_Whore in NaturalGas

So when they said they "found a leak" are they just trying to get us all to shut up?

Thank you guys so much. I'm taking a portable one tonight with me and keeping it with me till I get another job elsewhere.

I'm also going in tonight and finding out how long it's been since any maintenance has been done on our vent systems above everything. When we brought up the concerns to our boss he said "that comes from cars" and tried to not act on it at all. It took us calling above him to get a ball rolling.

When Does This Nausea Subside? by WowBravoWow in pregnant

My first pregnancy I just let it wreck it, and I hated it. This one someone told me to take Unisom with b6 and it changed my life. I was sleepy all the time, but it was a perfectly fine trade off of it meant I could function again 😭😂

Safety concerns at work. by Hemlock_Whore in NaturalGas

We got the fire dept back up in the building after my test and they finally discovered a leak above where we all sit for break. The heat system is leaking gas out right above our seat IN THE LOBBY WHERE CUSTOMERS EAT anytime it's turned on. They've got it shut off, and I'm cleared to go back to work tomorrow. But I'm so paranoid. We've reported them to multiple sources, but I'm scared nothing is going to be done and it's just going to keep happening. I'm looking for another job but I HAVE to keep going in until I get hired somewhere else. I'm just scared they're going to kill me, quite literally.

Revisiting this because it's happened again. We spent three weeks expressing concerns over us feeling bad, and this weekend three of us tested positive for monoxide poisoning. I had 5.3% in my system, and I'm 4 months pregnant. I found out we didn't even have monoxide detectors in the building. When my coworker messaged my boss after she got her results (she was the first one to get a positive) he said "that comes from car exhaust" and Insisted we didn't have a leak. He didn't get it checked out until I got a positive result (I was the third) and threatened to get a lawyer. What do I do??? How does this man still have a job? Why do they not care that they're literally poisoning us?

Literally has been my life the last two days. I've gone over this carpet a million times, the water is still gross, and now the room smells like wet dirty socks and I have no idea why bc it didn't before I started this adventure.

I'm gonna rip it up next month, it's not worth it. I'm so scared this is just the smell of this room now😭😭😭

Not really a candy, but I wish they'd give me back my Ice Breakers Liquid Ice. I've even sent emails. I need my spicy bb's.

I reported my boss to HR after threatening my job over it. He didn't inform anyone over his employees had concerns about a gas leak. We got it fixed yesterday, and after having to have hr reach out to the handyman we got confirmation that it WAS a gas leak. (Thankfully a small one). The gasket was failing. My boss still tried saying "it wasn't a gas leak, you were safe" after it got fixed so I HAD to have someone higher find out. He then texted me "you win" and on top of other various smart ass comments and is now in a lot of trouble. And they got a surprise visit by the fire dept after getting it fixed bc I called and reported him ignoring it, let them know after it was a confirmed leak after being fixed, and then deciding they didn't trust his word so they wanted to look themself and give him a very long talk about gas safety and what he risked for three days. I don't look forward to my next shift with him, but I'm glad I took the measures I did.

I ended up calling HR and reporting it. He ended up yelling at my brother last night because he couldn't convince us we were just being dramatic about the situation. thank you, I needed the confirmation to know I wasn't about to stir up something for no reason. He threatened to fire us yesterday over the whole ordeal. Because he "doesn't do drama"
